Arrival at Rissington Inn, Hazyview

Your Rissington Inn Safari departs daily from Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport. You must be at the OR Tambo bus terminal by 6:45 AM, with departure promptly at 7:00 AM. Once you have booked your Safari, we will send through the full instructions for a smooth start. You will travel East, enjoying scenic views of rolling farmlands and beautiful landscapes en route to Hazyview.

We will be making comfortable stops along the way, the perfect time to stretch your legs and buy snacks or refreshments before journeying forward. Your estimated time of arrival in Hazyview is around 1 PM, whereafter you will be transferred to the award-winning Rissington Inn. Once you arrive, check in to your stylish room and take some time to freshen up. At 3 PM, hop onto an open-sided land cruiser for a thrilling 2.5-hour afternoon game drive in the Kruger National Park. After your drive, head back to the lodge to unwind.

Full Day Game Drive in Kruger National Park

Start your morning with a warm cup of coffee or tea before setting out on a full-day game drive in the Skukuza area of Kruger National Park. A packed breakfast from the Inn is included for your convenience. The game drives take place in specially modified, 9-seater, open-sided land cruisers designed for optimal wildlife viewing and photography. The Skukuza area is abundant in wildlife, and the elevated position of the 4x4 open-sided vehicle provides excellent vantage points. After our sunrise game drive, we will pause for breakfast. You can also purchase additional food items at the shop in Kruger Park. After breakfast, the game drive continues until lunchtime. Lunch will be enjoyed at one of the park’s restaurants at your own expense. After a short lunch break, we embark on an afternoon safari, further exploring the Kruger's diverse wildlife. Throughout the day, you will see a wide variety of wildlife. Return to the lodge to unwind. Enjoy another delicious dinner at Rissington Inn.

Panorama Route

Today you depart on your adventure on the Panorama Route, revealing one breathtaking view after another. After a delicious breakfast to fuel your day, get ready for an eight-hour journey through some of South Africa's most incredible landscapes. Various scenic stops will be made along the route. First, you will step into a view that stretches on forever at God's Window. You will then get to explore other epic sights like The Pinnacle and the unique rock formations at Bourke's Luck Potholes. Prepare to be completely captivated by the majestic Blyde River Canyon, with its towering cliffs and the stunning Three Rondavels. You will also take in another incredible sight at Wonderview and witness a powerful waterfall plunging from great heights. Lunch will be available for you to buy along the route at your own expense. After a day of scenery, return to the Inn for a sunset drink on the deck followed by an award-winning dinner. This day is a highlight of any visit to the beautiful Lowveld.

Return and Drop Off in Johannesburg

On the final morning of your Safari, you have the option to join another early morning sunrise game drive or enjoy a leisurely morning relaxing at Rissington Inn. Please note, this sunrise game drive is optional and at your own expense. The Inn offers a beautiful swimming pool and gardens overlooking the valley, ideal for a relaxing final morning in the Lowveld. Enjoy a hearty breakfast before checking out. Just before 12 PM, we will arrange your transfer to the shuttle pickup point in Hazyview. From there, you will travel back to Johannesburg with comfort stops along the way. The estimated arrival time at OR Tambo Airport is between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM. This marks the conclusion of your unforgettable Rissington Inn Safari experience with Big Bull Safaris.
