Depart from Nairobi to Samburu

Early morning departure from Nairobi, driving north through central Kenya with scenic views of Mount Kenya and local villages. Arrive in Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River, home to elephants, lions, leopards, crocodiles, and the unique Samburu Special Five (Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk). Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Spend the day exploring Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve offers excellent wildlife viewing in a rugged, semi-arid landscape, with frequent sightings of predators and large elephant herds. Optional cultural visit to a Samburu village can be arranged to experience their traditional lifestyle, dances, and customs. Enjoy lunch at the lodge, followed by relaxation before the afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Driver back to Nairobi

Early morning game drive for final wildlife sightings as the animals are most active. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then depart Samburu for Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon with unforgettable memories of Kenya’s wild north.
