From Arusha to the Elephants Paradise-Tarangire National Park

In the morning, you will be picked up from your lodge in Arusha by your personal safari guide and begin your journey toward Tarangire National Park, traveling through gently rolling Maasai plains dotted with acacia trees.

Along the way, you may encounter Maasai people in their colorful traditional attire, walking beside the road, riding bicycles, herding cattle, or guiding donkey carts, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich cultural heritage. Tarangire National Park is renowned for its large elephant herds and boasts an impressive diversity of wildlife.

From the open roof of your safari vehicle, enjoy sweeping views of seasonal swamps, open savannahs, and the life-giving Tarangire River as you search for wildlife such as zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, and giraffes. After an early breakfast, you will set off for the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Though the journey is long, the scenery along the way is truly breathtaking.

As you enter the park, you’ll quickly understand why Serengeti means “endless plains,” with vast open landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see. Covering nearly 18,000 square kilometres, the park offers an overwhelming sense of space and scale.

The Serengeti is home to the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes move across the plains each year. It is also one of the best places to spot predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, many of which have been featured in iconic wildlife documentaries.

Day 4

Today, you will set out early for a morning game drive, offering a wonderful opportunity to witness a magnificent African sunrise in the heart of the bush. After a cup of coffee, you will venture into the wilderness as the day begins and wildlife awakens among the dew-covered grasses.

Later in the morning, you will enjoy a full breakfast within the park, followed by lunch served in a scenic spot surrounded by nature.

In the afternoon, you will head out once more for a final game drive, continuing to explore the open plains in search of African wildlife as you gradually make your way out of the park.

Rise early for a scenic drive to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Today’s highlight is the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s natural wonders.

Upon reaching the crater rim, you will descend nearly 600 metres into the vast caldera, where rich grasslands, soda lakes, and abundant wildlife await. The crater is home to over 25,000 animals, including the Big Five, spotted hyenas, and more than 500 bird species.

After an exciting game drive and a picnic lunch on the crater floor, you will continue to your hotel in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will travel to your final safari destination, Lake Manyara National Park. Although relatively small, this remarkably diverse park lies approximately 120 kilometers west of Arusha and is centered around a shallow, seasonal alkaline lake.

The lake expands and recedes with the seasons, attracting thousands of flamingos and supporting more than 500 bird species. As you explore the park, you may encounter monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and elephants, and, with a bit of luck, the famous tree-climbing lions resting in the acacia branches.

Lake Manyara is renowned for its varied landscapes, ranging from open grassy plains to dense, primate-rich forests and dramatic baobab-studded cliffs. After enjoying lunch, you will return to Arusha, bringing your safari adventure to a memorable close.

After breakfast at around 7:30 a.m., you will be picked up by your guide and transfer to the coast, where you’ll board a traditional dhow for a scenic journey to the island. Upon arrival, you’ll learn about the island’s fascinating history and meet its famous residents over 50 giant tortoises, some more than a century old.

After exploring the island, enjoy time to swim in the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by colourful tropical fish.

Later, you will continue with a three-hour Spice Tour, where you’ll discover a wide variety of tropical fruits, spices, and herbs. The guided walk offers insight into Zanzibar’s rich spice heritage, including cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla, pepper, ginger, tamarind, and many other aromatic plants once traded across the Indian Ocean.

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
