Nairobi to Amboseli

You will arrive in Amboseli late morning to early afternoon. Often, the safari begins immediately as animals move freely across the plains near the park entrance.

After checking in at your lodge or camp, you will enjoy lunch and some quiet time to rest. The air feels different here. Slower. Wider. Calmer.

Later in the afternoon, you will head out for your first game drive.

Amboseli is best known for its elephants, and you are very likely to see them in large family groups, walking across the plains or standing peacefully in the swamps. You may also see buffalo, zebras, wildebeest and giraffes moving gracefully through the landscape.

As the sun lowers, Mount Kilimanjaro often reveals itself in the distance. It is a powerful and emotional sight, especially when the light turns soft and golden.

You will return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and a restful night, accompanied by the quiet sounds of nature.

Drive time is 4-5 hours.

Morning game drive and return to Nairobi

You will wake up early for a morning game drive, when Amboseli feels most alive. The air is cool and fresh, and animals are active.

This is a beautiful time to see lions resting after the night, hyenas moving back into the shadows, and elephants greeting the day.

Birdlife is especially vibrant in the early hours, and the wetlands shimmer with life.

After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast. There is an option for a visit to the Masai Boma.

There is no rush. Just time to sit, reflect and enjoy the last moments in the wild.

You will then begin the drive back to Nairobi, carrying the calm and beauty of Amboseli with you.

You will be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel in good time for your onward journey, bringing this short but meaningful safari to a gentle close.
