Nairobi to Amboseli National Park – Afternoon Safari

Depart Nairobi at approximately 8:00 a.m. and travel south through scenic countryside towards Amboseli National Park. Along the way, enjoy views of Maasai homesteads and wide-open plains set against distant volcanic hills. Arrive at Olemaiyan Amboseli around midday for check-in and lunch.

Later in the afternoon, set out on your first game drive in Amboseli, a park renowned for its large elephant herds and dramatic Mount Kilimanjaro backdrop. Look out for lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, and a variety of plains game. The drive continues until sunset, after which you return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full-Day Exploration of Amboseli

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. Spend the day exploring Amboseli’s contrasting landscapes—from permanent swamps fed by underground springs to dusty lake beds and open grasslands.

Visit Observation Hill, offering sweeping views of the park and, weather permitting, Mount Kilimanjaro. Wildlife viewing continues throughout the day before returning to Olemaiyan Amboseli in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Morning Game Drive and Return to Nairobi

Enjoy a short morning game drive, either before or after breakfast, taking advantage of the cooler hours when predators are most active.
