Malindi to Tsavo East National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

You have a pick up from your hotel in Malindi at around 08:30 am and begin your drive inland toward Tsavo East National Park, passing rural villages, coastal farmlands, and the scenic Galana River region.

You will enter the park through Sala Gate, where your first wildlife sightings begin. You will enjoy a short highlight game drive en route to your lodge.

You will check in at Avid Lodge, Voi, for lunch. In the afternoon, you will head out for a game drive until evening, exploring Tsavo East’s open plains and wildlife-rich areas, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, and buffalo. You will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Voi to Amboseli National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, you will depart Tsavo East around 8:00 am and drive toward Amboseli National Park, arriving before midday. You will check in at your lodge, enjoy an early lunch, and relax before the afternoon game drive.

February is an excellent month for wildlife viewing in Amboseli, as animals concentrate around the southern marshlands, fed by underground springs from Mount Kilimanjaro. This natural gathering ensures high chances of spotting large herds of elephants, lions, cheetahs, and other plains game.

You will spend the afternoon exploring the park’s wildlife-rich hotspots and enjoy spectacular sunset views over the plains with Kilimanjaro in the background. Optional: on day two, you may opt for an easy hike to Observation Hill for panoramic views of the park and surrounding landscapes. You return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Morning Game Drive and Return to Malindi

You will enjoy a pre-breakfast sunrise game drive in Amboseli for one last chance to spot wildlife in the early hours when activity is highest. You will return to camp for breakfast, check out, and begin your journey back to Malindi.

You will stop for lunch in Voi before continuing to the coast, arriving in Malindi in the late evening.
