Malindi to Tsavo East – Afternoon Game Drive

Pick up from your hotel in Malindi at around 08:30 hrs and drive inland toward Tsavo East National Park, passing rural villages, coastal farmlands, and the scenic Galana River region.

Enter the park through Sala Gate, where wildlife sightings begin almost immediately. Enjoy a short highlight game drive as you proceed to your lodge.

Arrive at Avid Lodge, Voi, for check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive across Tsavo East’s vast open plains, known for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and diverse birdlife. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Tsavo East to Amboseli – Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, depart Tsavo East at around 08:00 hrs and drive toward Amboseli National Park, arriving before midday. Check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch before some time to relax.

In the afternoon, head out for a game drive in Amboseli, focusing on the southern marshlands, where wildlife concentrations are highest. Expect excellent chances of seeing large elephant herds, lions, cheetahs, and other plains game, often with Mount Kilimanjaro providing a dramatic backdrop. Return to the lodge by evening.

Full-Day Game Drive in Amboseli

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in Amboseli with a packed lunch. Explore the park’s diverse habitats, including swamps, open plains, and seasonal lake beds, maximizing wildlife encounters throughout the day.

The extended time in the park allows for unhurried exploration and excellent photographic opportunities, particularly around the marshlands where animals gather throughout the dry season. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon or early evening for dinner and overnight stay.
