Drive through the Danakil Desert toward Erta Ale.
Late afternoon arrival at Erta Ale base camp.
Evening hike to the summit to witness the active lava lake.
Overnight at Erta Ale (camping).

Continue to Hamedela village, known for traditional salt caravans.
Overnight at Hamedela (basic camp).
