Day 1

Nairobi to Samburu
The safari begins with a pick up from your Nairobi hotel or Airport. Depart Nairobi in the morning and travel north through Kenya’s beautiful highlands. Along the way, you’ll cross the equator line, where you will have a stop over. Continue your journey into the semi-arid landscapes of northern Kenya, where the scenery changes to rugged hills, acacia-dotted plains, and the Ewaso Nyiro River valley. Arrive in Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch, check in at your lodge or camp, and relax for a short while. Set out on your first evening game drive in Samburu. This reserve is known for its strikingly beautiful landscape and unique wildlife and hot and dry weather conditions. Continue in search of elephants, lions, leopards, and the famous Samburu Special Five Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk (the long-necked antelope that stands on its hind legs to feed). Return to your lodge or camp and enjoy the amenities, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2
Samburu National Park

After breakfast, head out for an early morning game drive, in search of predators as they finish their night hunt and to see the park come alive in the golden morning light. Capture stunning photos of elephants moving in herds, giraffes browsing on treetops, and antelopes grazing against the backdrop of Samburu’s rugged hills. Return to the lodge for a mid-morning rest and a leisurely lunch as you relax and enjoy the camp/lodge’s amenities. Later, embark on an evening game drive, exploring a different section of the reserve when animals are once again active in the cooler hours of the day. This is an excellent time to look out for cheetahs, leopards, and other predators as they prepare to hunt. As the sun sets, soak in the breathtaking views and take stunning photos of the Samburu landscape bathed in golden light. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3
Samburu to Arberdare
Samburu to Arberdare
After breakfast, depart for the Aberdare Ranges, a region known for its misty mountains, dense forests, and dramatic waterfalls. Arrive in time for lunch at the Tree Top Lodge, nestled deep within the park and surrounded by lush montane forest. In the evening, relax on the lodge’s deck and enjoy close-up wildlife viewing as animals come to the floodlit waterhole and salt lick. You will spot elephants, buffalo, bushbucks, and a variety of nocturnal species visiting the lodge, offering a unique and intimate safari experience. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the serene sounds of the forest.

Day 4
Aberdares to Olpejeta Conservancy
Aberdares to Olpejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, check out and proceed to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Arrive in time for lunch, then head out for an afternoon game drive. Visit the black rhino sanctuary, see the last two northern white rhinos on earth and tour the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge/camp overlooking the conservancy.

Back to Nairobi
Back to Nairobi
After breakfast, enjoy a short en-route game drive as you exit the conservancy. Drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. You will be dropped at your hotel or airport for your onward journey. This marks the end of your memorable 5-day Samburu, Aberdare & Ol pejeta safari.
