Day 2
Arusha - Tarangire National Park

After breakfast in Arusha, journey approximately 125 km to Tarangire National Park, traveling through rolling savannahs, small villages, and fertile farmland of northern Tanzania. Upon arrival, experience the park’s iconic landscapes, characterized by vast open plains, winding rivers, and majestic baobab trees. Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds, as well as giraffes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, and a remarkable variety of bird species, from colorful weavers to soaring raptors. A picnic lunch in a scenic spot allows for relaxation amidst the sounds and sights of the wilderness. Continue in the afternoon with further exploration of Tarangire’s unique habitats, guided by knowledgeable staff who provide insights into animal behavior, ecology, and conservation efforts. In the late afternoon, transfer to a comfortable lodge in Karatu, conveniently located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you can relax and unwind.

After breakfast in Karatu, drive 30–45 minutes to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing rolling hills, farmland, and Maasai villages. Descend into the crater for a game drive in this iconic landscape, home to lions, elephants, black rhinos, buffalo, zebras, and hippos. Afterward, visit a Maasai village to learn about local traditions and their connection with the land. Return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight, reflecting on a day of remarkable wildlife and cultural encounters.

After breakfast in Karatu, enjoy a 45–60 minute drive to Lake Manyara National Park, renowned for its lush groundwater forest and rich biodiversity. Later, begin a scenic drive back to Arusha Airport, passing rolling hills, fertile farmland, and vibrant local villages along the way.
