1-Day Akagera National Park Safari Tour

Early in the morning, we will leave Kigali at around 5:00 am for a day trip to Akagera National Park, which is approximately two hours away. Akagera is primarily a savannah park. A game drive toward the northern section offers opportunities to see elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, waterbucks, rhinos, the elusive leopard, and the recently reintroduced lions.

Upon arrival at the southern gate, you will check in at the park reception and receive a short briefing about the park. Most of the day will be spent in the northern sector, which hosts abundant wildlife due to its landscape and vegetation. The game drive can last about six hours, depending on animal sightings and interests.

The tour guide will advise on lunch options (you can either purchase lunch or bring a packed meal). The game drive continues, and later in the evening, you will exit via the northern gate and be transferred back to your hotel or the airport.
