On Day 2, travel to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola, about 170–180 km north of Kampala. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see wild rhinos in their natural habitat. Established to reintroduce and protect rhinos, the sanctuary offers guided walking safaris, birdwatching, and nature walks, making it a meaningful conservation experience.
After Ziwa, continue to Murchison Falls National Park, located about 300 km northwest of Kampala. Uganda’s largest and most popular park, established in 1952, covers over 3,900 sq km of savannah, forests, and waterways along the Nile. The park is named after the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge. It is home to elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, chimpanzees in Budongo Forest, and over 450 bird species, including the shoebill stork.

Starts with an early morning game drive in the park to catch the wildlife at its most active time. As the sun rises, we set out on a safari adventure to spot elephants, lions, and other iconic animals roaming the savannah. After the game drive, we will go back to your accommodation to have lunch and rest then go for zip lining at a preferred time. Tourists can also enjoy a boat cruise along River Nile, providing opportunities to spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species in their natural habitat. The highlight of the boat cruise is getting up close to the bottom of the powerful Murchison Falls and watching the sun set, on a relaxing and scenic journey and this activity option goes for $35 per person.

On the final day in the park, begin with an exhilarating hike to the top of Murchison Falls. The trail winds through lush forest and rocky paths, rewarding you with breathtaking views of the Nile River squeezing through a narrow gorge below. At the summit, feel the cool spray and hear the thunderous roar of the falls as the river surges onward through the wilderness.
Afterward, continue your journey to Jinja, a lively town on the northern shores of Lake Victoria and the legendary Source of the Nile. Once an industrial center during colonial times, Jinja is now known as Uganda’s “Adventure Capital,” offering thrilling activities such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping, quad biking, boat cruises, and nature walks, with chances to spot birds, otters, and other riverside wildlife.

Spend a calm morning in Jinja, resting and unwinding and later enjoy water activities on the Nile. For example tubing which offers a thrilling adventure as you float over a mix of calm waters and subtle rapids while enjoying the scenic beauty of the surroundings and take a boat cruise upriver with the opportunity to visit the 'Source of the Nile' now at the bottom of the Owen Falls Dam, which is a more leisurely exploration of the river.
