Day 1
Chobe National Park
Chobe National Park
Starting in Kasane, you’re right at the gateway to Chobe National Park, one of the most elephant-dense regions in Africa. The riverfront is spectacular because it combines big game viewing with birdlife, so you’re never short of action. The optional boat cruise is a gem — seeing elephants swimming across the river or hippos surfacing beside your boat is unforgettable.
What makes the journey even more magical is the transition into the Okavango Delta. It’s such a contrast; Chobe’s wide floodplains give way to labyrinthine waterways, papyrus channels, and lagoons alive with kingfishers, herons, and the occasional lurking crocodile. The Delta is also prime territory for mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions, which let you glide silently through reed-lined channels, spotting wildlife at eye level.
Accommodation: Kwalape Lodge or similar.

Day 2
Chobe National Park
Chobe National Park
The rhythm of early morning game drives followed by a relaxed afternoon river safari is exactly how you maximize wildlife encounters in this park.
Morning game drive: Dawn is when predators are most active, so you’re likely to catch lions or leopards on the move. The cooler hours also draw elephants, giraffes, and antelopes into open areas, making sightings more frequent.
Afternoon river cruise: The Chobe River is a stage for dramatic wildlife behavior; elephants bathing, hippos surfacing, crocodiles basking, and birds swooping across the water. The golden light of late afternoon makes it a photographer’s dream.
Accommodation: Staying at Kwalape Safari Lodge (or similar) keeps you close to the action, with comfortable en-suite rooms and all meals included.
This combination of land and water safaris gives you two very different perspectives on the same ecosystem. On land, you’re tracking movement and behavior across the bush.

Day 3
Nata - Makgdikgadi Salt Pans
Nata - Makgdikgadi Salt Pans
The Makgadikgadi Pan is a fascinating contrast to the lush waterways of the Okavango and the wildlife-rich floodplains of Chobe. Stretching across the northeastern savannah of Botswana, it’s one of the largest salt flats on Earth, an ancient remnant of Lake Makgadikgadi, which once dwarfed Switzerland in size before drying up thousands of years ago.
On the Kasane to Nata route, you’ll be moving from riverine landscapes into stark, shimmering salt pans. The journey itself is scenic, and by the time you arrive at Nata Lodge (or similar), you’re perfectly positioned to explore the pans. The lodge offers comfortable en-suite rooms in double, twin, or single, with all meals included. What makes Makgadikgadi special is its seasonal transformation. During the Dry season, vast, glittering salt flats stretch endlessly, creating surreal horizons and incredible photographic opportunities. In the Wet season, rainwater turns the pans into shallow lakes, attracting thousands of migratory birds.

Day 4
Maun Town
Maun Town
After breakfast, you’ll set off on a 4-hour drive from Nata to Maun, passing through Makgadikgadi National Park. Even on the road, there’s a chance to spot wildlife — antelope, elephants, and birdlife along the way.
Upon arrival in Maun, lunch is served, giving you time to relax before checking into your hotel, Sedia Riverside Hotel (or similar). It offers comfortable double, twin, or single en-suite rooms, and its riverside setting makes it a peaceful base before heading deeper into the Delta.
Optional highlight: A scenic flight over the Okavango Delta is one of the most breathtaking experiences in Botswana. From above, you’ll see the mosaic of lagoons, channels, and islands, with herds of elephants and buffalo moving across the floodplains. It’s a perspective that truly shows why the Delta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included, ensuring you’re well-fueled for the adventure ahead.

Okavango Delta / Moremi Game Reserve - Overnight Bush Experience
Okavango Delta / Moremi Game Reserve - Overnight Bush Experience
After an early breakfast, you’ll leave Maun behind and head into the Okavango Delta for a 2-day, 1-night safari. This is one of the most intimate ways to experience the Delta, immersed in its waterways, lagoons, and floodplains.
The Delta is prime hippo territory, and camping here brings you closer to their world than anywhere else. You’ll also spot elephants, antelopes, crocodiles, and a dazzling variety of birdlife. Meals are served right in the middle of the Delta, often with animals wandering nearby to drink or graze.
Accommodation options:
- Camping in the Delta: Rustic but unforgettable; bush toilets, tents, and the sounds of the wild all around you.
- Sedia Riverside Hotel (Maun): Comfortable en-suite rooms if you prefer to return to town after a full day in the Delta.
- Moremi Game Reserve: Another option, offering a mix of Delta waterways and classic savanna game drives.
Lunch, dinner and breakfast are included, keeping you energized for long days in the bush.

Day 6
Maun Town
Maun Town
Today, close out the safari circuit gracefully.
Morning walk: Starting the day with coffee or tea followed by a guided walk lets you experience the bush at its quietest, noticing tracks, bird calls, and smaller details often missed on game drives.
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to Maun, arriving around midday. The safari officially wraps up after lunch, but Maun is a lively hub with plenty of optional activities if you’d like to extend your stay. Stay longer in Maun for cultural tours, craft markets, or additional Delta excursions. Opt for a scenic flight over the Okavango if you haven’t taken one earlier.
Transit back to Victoria Falls with the group — accommodation during the return journey is optional, giving you flexibility depending on your plans.
This final stage ties the adventure together — from Victoria Falls to Chobe’s elephants, Makgadikgadi’s salt pans, and the Okavango’s watery wilderness, ending in Maun.
