Your safari adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, driving north through central Kenya’s highlands and scenic countryside. After passing Mount Kenya region and crossing the equator, you descend into the dramatic semi-arid landscape of Samburu. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch, followed by some relaxation. In the late afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in Samburu National Reserve, renowned for its unique wildlife such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Spend the entire day exploring Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. The Ewaso Nyiro River attracts abundant wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, and crocodiles. The reserve offers excellent photography opportunities set against rugged hills and acacia woodlands. Between game drives, return to the lodge for meals and relaxation. Dinner and overnight in Samburu.

Day 3
Samburu – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Samburu – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, depart Samburu and head south toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in this celebrated private conservancy, home to the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa, as well as the last two northern white rhinos. You may also visit the chimpanzee sanctuary (time permitting). Ol Pejeta offers diverse wildlife viewing, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, and plains game. Dinner and overnight at the conservancy.

After breakfast, depart Ol Pejeta and drive through the Great Rift Valley toward Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for its birdlife, including flamingos and pelicans, as well as its thriving populations of black and white rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and tree-climbing lions. Enjoy scenic viewpoints overlooking the lake before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive southwest toward the Masai Mara, passing through rolling hills and traditional Maasai villages. Arrive in the Mara in time for lunch at your camp or lodge. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in the reserve, known for its vast savannahs and incredible density of wildlife. Expect sightings of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and big cats. Dinner and overnight in the Masai Mara.
