Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your safari adventure begins with a morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or the city center. You will depart at approximately 7:30 AM, embarking on a scenic 5–6 hour drive toward the legendary Masai Mara. En route, you will enjoy a breathtaking stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint for panoramic photos of the world’s largest valley system. After descending the escarpment and passing through the vibrant town of Narok, you will arrive at your tented camp in time for a warm lunch and check-in. At 4:00 PM, you will head out for your introductory sunset game drive. This is the perfect time to witness predators like lions and cheetahs beginning their nightly hunt before returning to the camp for a buffet dinner and stories around the campfire.

Full-Day Exploration of the Savannah

Following an early 6:30 AM breakfast, you will depart with a packed picnic lunch for a comprehensive full-day game viewing experience. This deep dive into the reserve allows you to cover vast distances, tracking the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) across the golden plains. You will visit the famous Mara River, home to massive pods of hippos and basking Nile crocodiles, and the site of the dramatic Great Migration crossings (seasonal). You'll enjoy your lunch in the wild under the shade of an acacia tree while surrounded by grazing zebras and gazelles. This 8–10 hour expedition maximizes your chances of rare sightings, such as a cheetah on the hunt or a leopard draped in a tree, before heading back to the camp for dinner and overnight rest.

Final Game Drive & Return to Nairobi

On your final day, you have the choice of a relaxed morning or a cultural experience. Following breakfast, you may opt to visit a Maasai Village ($20–$30 per person) to learn about their traditional customs, dances, and beadwork.

Alternatively, you can check out directly and begin the return journey. You will drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the capital between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your safari.
