Arusha to Tarangire National Park (Land of Giants)

After breakfast, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated wildlife parks. Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, some of which are hundreds of years old.

You will enjoy an extensive game drive through varied landscapes of savannah, riverbeds, and woodlands. Wildlife sightings often include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Lunch will be served at a picnic site near the Tarangire River, a lifeline that attracts animals throughout the year.

This day is relaxed yet rich in wildlife, offering excellent photography opportunities and a strong start to your safari experience.

Ngorongoro Highlands to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will travel through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area, ascending into cooler highland landscapes. You will stop at the famous crater viewpoint to admire the breathtaking panoramic view of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.

Continuing onward, the scenery gradually changes as you descend into the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival in the afternoon, enjoy lunch before heading out on your first game drive in this legendary ecosystem.

This day is fully dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. After an early breakfast, you will head out for a sunrise game drive when animals are most active and the light is perfect for photography.

Your guide will tailor the day’s route based on wildlife movements, increasing your chances of witnessing dramatic predator-prey interactions. The Serengeti is one of the best places in Africa to observe big cats, and with some luck, you may witness a hunt.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing your game drive into the afternoon, soaking in the immense scale and beauty of this iconic landscape.

Ngorongoro Crater Safari

After an early breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most extraordinary wildlife destinations in Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater floor is home to an incredible concentration of animals year-round, offering excellent chances to spot the Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, and the rare black rhinoceros.

The unique ecosystem of the crater makes wildlife viewing especially rewarding, as animals are easier to locate within the enclosed caldera. You will enjoy a relaxed game drive across open grasslands, lakes, and forests, with a picnic lunch served near a hippo pool.

This day focuses on authentic cultural experiences. Lake Eyasi is home to the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes, some of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in East Africa.

You will have the opportunity to join the Hadzabe on a traditional hunting excursion, learn how they make fire and tools, and understand their deep connection with nature. You may also visit the Datoga community to observe metalwork, bead-making, and traditional dances.

This immersive experience offers rare insight into ancient lifestyles that have remained unchanged for centuries. In the late afternoon, you will return to Arusha.
