Day 4

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated entirely to game drives in the Serengeti. This world-famous park is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including impala, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos, and is best known for the Great Migration of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. The movement of these herds depends on rainfall and can vary each year. In November and December, the animals typically travel from the woodland and hilly northern areas to the open grassy plains of the south. During the long rains from April to June, they usually make their way back north.

Beyond the migration, you may also encounter Serengeti’s resident predators—lions, cheetahs, and leopards—playing their vital role in nature’s balance.

After a thrilling day, you will return to your carefully selected partner tented camp to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night in the heart of the endless plains.

As wildlife moves freely through these unfenced protected areas, you’ll enjoy uninterrupted game viewing along the way. Upon reaching the crater rim, you’ll catch your first breathtaking view of the landscape below—sparkling streams, wide open grasslands, and an abundance of animals waiting to be explored.

In the evening, you will settle into one of our carefully selected mid-range lodges, where you can relax in a comfortable room and enjoy dinner in a charming restaurant, ready for the adventures ahead.

Early risers are treated to stunning sunrise views over the crater rim. After a satisfying breakfast, we descend along the scenic track into the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site—often called one of Africa’s natural wonders—was formed around three million years ago. It is about 610 metres deep and spans roughly 260 sq km.

With an estimated 25,000 large animals living within its walls, the crater offers some of the best game viewing in Tanzania. Within a short time, you may spot wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, elephants, and many of the more than 500 bird species found here. If you’re lucky, you might even see the rare black rhino hidden in the grass.

After a rewarding game drive and a picnic lunch, we ascend in the afternoon and return to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay at one of our carefully selected mid-range lodges.

Lake Manyara NP to Arusha

After breakfast, we set off for the final highlight of your safari—Lake Manyara National Park. Located about 120 km west of Arusha, this small yet remarkably diverse park is named after its shallow soda lake, which covers nearly 70% of the park’s area. The lake rises and falls with the seasons and attracts thousands of flamingos, along with more than 500 other bird species.

As we explore, you may encounter monkeys, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, and elephants, and with a bit of luck, even the famous tree-climbing lions. Lake Manyara is also celebrated for its varied scenery, from open plains to lush forests alive with primates and dramatic cliffs dotted with baobab trees.
