Day 1

Tarangire national park

Your safari begins with a morning departure from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and majestic baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive through open savannah, acacia woodlands, and along the Tarangire River, a lifeline that attracts abundant wildlife. You may encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, and various antelope species, as well as a wide variety of birdlife. After a picnic lunch inside the park and an afternoon game drive, depart for Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Tree Inn, where you can relax in a tranquil garden setting.

Day 2

Ngorongoro crater

Ngorongoro crater

After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a game drive across the crater floor, which is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife including the Big Five - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and the endangered black rhino - as well as hippos, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, and flamingos along Lake Magadi. After a picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking scenery, ascend the crater walls and return to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Tree Inn.

Lake manyara

Lake manyara

Following breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Enjoy a game drive through lush groundwater forests, open plains, and along the lakeshore. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, elephants, giraffes, and a variety of birdlife including flamingos and pelicans. After a picnic lunch in the park and continued wildlife viewing, return to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Tree Inn.

Arusha national park and departure

Arusha national park and departure

After breakfast, drive to Arusha National Park, located at the foot of Mount Meru and known for its scenic beauty and diverse habitats including montane forest, open grasslands, and the picturesque Momella Lakes. Enjoy a morning game drive where you may see giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, various antelope species, and black-and-white colobus monkeys, while the lakes often attract flamingos and other water birds. An optional guided walking safari with an armed ranger can also be arranged for a more immersive experience. After a picnic lunch in the park, return to Arusha in the afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or transfer to the airport for your onward departure, marking the end of your memorable 4-day safari adventure.
