Entebbe - Queen Elizabeth NP, evening game drive

Set in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Day 1 begins with arrival and check-in at your lodge followed by relaxation and lunch overlooking the savannah plains. In the late afternoon, head out for an exciting evening game drive in the Kasenyi sector, one of the park’s prime wildlife areas. As temperatures cool, animals become more active, offering excellent chances to spot elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and large prides of lions preparing for the night’s hunt. Keep an eye out for leopards resting in fig trees and a variety of bird species along the tracks. The golden sunset over the crater lakes and open plains provides spectacular photography moments. Return to the lodge at dusk for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Morning game drive - Kazinga channel boat cruise - afternoon game drive

Begin the day with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, when wildlife is most active. Explore the Kasenyi plains in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hyenas, and possibly a leopard returning from its night hunt. The cool morning light offers excellent photography opportunities and clear views across the savannah.

In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise brings you close to large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants cooling off at the shoreline, and abundant birdlife.

Later, embark on an afternoon game drive to spot more wildlife as animals gather near water sources before sunset, concluding a full day of classic safari experiences.

Start the day with an optional early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park for one last opportunity to experience the African wilderness. The cool hours of dawn are ideal for spotting predators such as lions and hyenas before they retreat from the rising sun. You may also encounter elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and a variety of bird species active in the fresh morning light. The peaceful scenery and golden sunrise over the savannah create memorable final safari moments.

After breakfast at the lodge, check out and begin your scenic return journey to Entebbe. The drive passes through rural landscapes, tea plantations, and local trading centers, offering glimpses of everyday Ugandan life. Arrival in the evening marks the end of your unforgettable safari adventure.
