Cape Town to Gondwana

Cape Town to Gondwana

Begin your journey from your Cape Town hotel or directly from the airport, heading east toward one of the finest safari experiences within reach of the city.

As you enter the reserve, you are immediately greeted by zebras and herds of antelope roaming freely across the landscape. The 4-hour drive from Cape Town is a memorable experience in itself, taking you through the rolling hills of the Cape Fold Belt and the golden grain fields of the Overberg region.

Upon arrival at Gondwana, you will be welcomed and checked into your private lodge. After settling in, enjoy a delicious lunch at the main lodge. The afternoon is yours to unwind or enjoy the lodge amenities.

As the sun begins to set, embark on your first evening game drive in search of Africa’s Big Five. With expert rangers leading the way, you will experience the thrill of the wild as nocturnal creatures come to life.
After the drive, return to the lodge for a downtime before sitting down to a hearty, all-inclusive dinner.

Midway through the drive, you’ll pause to enjoy steaming coffee or tea out in the bush. After about two hours, you'll return to the lodge for a well-deserved, hearty breakfast.

After breakfast, you will be taken on an enjoyable short scenic drive to Mossel Bay, just 30 minutes from Gondwana. This charming coastal town is steeped in history and offers a perfect blend of culture and seaside relaxation. You may also want to treat yourself to a fresh seafood lunch before returning to Gondwana.

Day 3

Gondwana to Cape Town Via Cape Agulhas

Gondwana to Cape Town Via Cape Agulhas

While many believe the Cape of Good Hope to be the southernmost point of Africa, it is actually Cape Agulhas that holds that title, marking the true southern tip of the continent. The journey from Gondwana to this iconic landmark is one of scenic beauty and cultural discovery.

You’ll begin by heading southwest, with a recommended stop in the small town of Albertinia. Here, the famous Aloe Shop offers a variety of natural herbal creams, oils, and drinks at reasonable prices.
Continue on to before taking a turn off the main route and passing through open farmlands, home to the blue crane.
As you near your destination, you will pass by Bredasdorp before arriving at Cape Agulhas. This dramatic coastline, where the Indian Ocean meets the Atlantic, is known for its rugged beauty, windswept shores, and a rich diversity of birdlife that flocks to the wetlands.
Wander along the rocky beaches scattered with the remains of shipwrecks, reminders of the region’s treacherous maritime history.
