Nairobi to the Golden Plains

Your safari begins with a morning departure from Nairobi, driving through the dramatic Great Rift Valley. After a brief stop at the viewpoint, continue to the Maasai Mara, arriving at your tented camp in time for lunch. In the late afternoon, head out for your first game drive to spot lions, cheetahs, and elephants. Return to camp at sunset for dinner and stories around the bonfire under the starlit African sky.

Spend a full day exploring the vast reserve with a packed picnic lunch. You will head toward the Mara River, the site of the dramatic wildebeest crossings. Track the massive herds and keep a close watch for crocodiles and lions lying in wait. After a midday lunch in the wild, continue your search for the Big Five. An optional sunrise hot air balloon safari or a visit to a Maasai village is available for an extra cost to enhance your experience.

Sunrise Drive and Return to Nairobi

Enjoy a final early morning game drive, the best time to see leopards and lions on the hunt. After a hearty breakfast at the camp, you will begin your journey back to Nairobi. During the drive, you will have a stop for lunch along the road at your own cost while enjoying your last views of the Rift Valley escarpment. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or the airport. Airport transfers are available for an extra cost.
