Upon arrival at the airport from your flight from Zanzibar, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your driver, who will be waiting to meet you. You will then drive to your luxury accommodation in Arusha, and on a clear day, you may enjoy views of Kilimanjaro en route. After a long day of travelling, you may wish to rest, but if you prefer to stay active until the evening, we can arrange a city tour or other experiences based on your interests..

Day 2
Arusha To Tarangire

After breakfast, you will meet an office representative for a briefing about your safari, then take a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, you will take in the scenic views of the grassland plains speckled with ancient baobab trees, traditional Maasai houses, and cattle being herded by the nomadic people. You will see all that Tarangire National Park is known for. See its famous ancient baobab trees, tree-climbing pythons, and the largest concentration of African elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. After a picnic lunch in midday, you will resume your afternoon game drive then drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will travel via the cooler highlands towards the central Serengeti and at midday you will reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park. This park is the largest in Tanzania and has a diversity of habitats and landscapes, short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape where predators are often seen. The Serengeti is famous for its yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water. You will spend the night at the lodge inside the park.

The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. The areas that you visit will depend on where the migrating herds are. Predators usually follow closely behind the trekking animals and include lions, leopards (in the acacia trees) and cheetahs. During the short rainy season in November and December, the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June, they return up north. As the migration is completely dependent on the yearly rainfalls, the location of the herds may vary from year to year but your guide will know where to locate the animals and where to see them best. You will spend another night at the lodge.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park while en route toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering final opportunities to spot predators and plains game. Continue through the highlands and arrive at the crater rim for dinner and an overnight stay at your luxury lodge overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater.

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an extensive morning game drive, offering excellent opportunities to spot the Big Five and abundant birdlife.
