A wonderful safari with minor organizational shortcomings 🦁🐘
We had a fantastic safari with many unforgettable experiences! The airport transfer went smoothly, and we were always picked up right on time.
Our safari guide, Othman, was truly excellent! He took care of providing delicious meals and did everything he could to ensure we saw as many animals as possible. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to witness both the "Big Five" and the Great Migration—a huge thank you for that!
Unfortunately, the internal organization of the tour was not entirely optimal. We had booked a "shared safari" and were, of course, aware that participants might be staying in different accommodations. However, this was the case every single evening, and some of the accommodations were located very far apart.
As a result, we spent an extra 1–2 hours each day dropping off or picking up other participants at their respective lodges. We often arrived at our own lodge only after dark, and the next morning, we had to head out again shortly after sunrise to collect the other guests. Consequently, we had hardly any time to enjoy our own accommodation or get some rest.
For the future, we would appreciate better planning in this regard. When multiple guests are grouped together for a shared safari, it would be ideal to ensure that their accommodations are located as close to one another as possible. This would avoid unnecessarily long travel times and allow all participants to enjoy their safari even more.
Overall, it was still a wonderful experience, thanks in large part to our fantastic guide, Othman, and the impressive wildlife! However, the coordination of the accommodations could definitely be improved.

We feel scammed: If I could give them a 0 star I would
I recently went on safari with Wild Serenity and was ABSOLUTELY SCAMMED. I could spend hours telling you each and every horrible thing they did to us, but I have a job lol TLDR: they presented a lovely front, but upon arrival, scammed us out of our hotels, offering only cheap much lower quality hotels with minimal refund, and multiple hiccups throughout the trip as well. Not only did they mess up all along the way, they never took accountability and kept coming up with new lies that we would be able to prove real lie. Would absolutely never recommend.
Here are the highlights of what happened: things started off great, they made a beautiful document that seemed well organized, and they were very gracious over text and phone call. Along the way one mistake was that they “forgot” to add the cost of an excursion to the quoted total that I had already paid a deposit on. In the quote, it included the excursion. The adamantly refused to cover this cost as the oversight was on their end, and essentially manipulated us into having to pay an extra couple of thousand dollars at the last second or not get to do what we plan to do.
- upon arrival, they conveniently tell us that the hotel that we agreed upon and put a deposit down for two months in advance suddenly “gave the booking away”, and now our only option is a much lower quality hotel that would increase each daily commute time by three hours to even get to the main part of the Serengeti. And in return we get $1000 back on a $30,000 trip. lol what a joke
- we asked for a hotel of equal or greater value, which they refused. They spent two whole days arguing about this until we put our foot down and reached out to other agencies. Then they finally fixed it.
- essentially they were using our trip as it means to grow their relationship with the Serena hotels so when the initial booking didn’t work out, they were only willing to book us with another Serena hotel, which were all of much lower quality than what we initially agreed to, and we’re quoted for.
-- They used our trip to help them build relationships with the Serena hotels rather than giving us the trip we asked for. For instance, we explicitly said our #1 goal was to see the Great migration, so it would make sense to place out accommodations near there. Instead they make it a 5 hour drive so that they could build relationships with the Serena hotels. This allowed us less than 1.5 hours to actually wait for the river crossing and migration
- the itinerary was so poorly made. The point of getting a tour agency is the assumption that they would have more knowledge and be able to make the trip smooth, effective and enjoyable as possible. They made it so that we spent the maximum time driving from one place to another and minimal time actually doing Safari game drives.
- they had an excuse for every little thing, when we asked why our “luxury” trip didn’t include a car with AC in the Serengeti heat, they said we did not opt for the extra $500 to get AC, which was never even presented to us in the first place. I would assume a luxury trip would include air-conditioning, and if you’re paying $30K, another 500 would not be a big deal, but we were never told about it.
- Communication is terrible. They’re very quick to say we will take care of everything and everything is great, when it comes to actually answering questions, they take two business days and always are busy. And when it came to our flight to Zanzibar, they did not communicate anything regarding Baig size, weight or number, leading us to have to leave suitcases at our hotel in Arusha, come back and quickly re-distribute things in bags so that they could be the appropriate weight. Adding a lot of stress and hassle to our day. Again makes you wonder why you get an agency
- and last, but not least, is the total lack of accountability. Every excuse was built on a lie, and when we would be able to dispel their lies, they would come up with a new one. The only person who apologize is the owner of the company, and that was only after wasting 2 days arguing with us, keeping us up until 6 am.
The only redeeming factor was our lovely guide who actually does not even work with This agency, he was contracted for our specific safari bc their usual guy was out.
Overall, it was not a vacation at all. They are scammers and only care for their relationships with local hotels, etc, not with giving you the best trip possible. It’s funny, because after our trip, I had at least six friends who are legitimately planning Safari trips ask about our agency and I told them that I absolutely do not recommend. They were so worried about their relationship building, or losing out on customers this way. This is not a company that will last if they continue to practice like this. Hopefully they learn from this and do better, but I would not risk my trip on that slim chance if I were you.
And I am not the only one, unfortunately I saw a few FB posts (too late) detailing on how they scammed others
All of this is true and much of it can be corroborated by WhatsApp messages

Our guide was Benjamin he was great. Very professional and nice .
The company are very professional and knows what they’re doing. Everything was on time.
The lodges were great most of them in the middle of the safari with very nice and respectful staff .
We recommend to do the safari tour around our time(October) because it’s the end of the high season so there aren’t a lot of cars and because of that we manage to watch all the important stuff even the immigration in the north and to visit a local tribe.
The value for money was really good they gave us better price then all the other companies.
In conclusion the safari was great but our guide and the company really made it special really recommended.

The places we slept in were excellent the food was great. We had a wonderful time but I think mostly because of Benjamin who knows everything about the safari he’s a human gps.

An unforgettable Tanzania safari with outstanding personal service from start to finish
Our trip through Tanzania was something very special for us, and the organization played a big part in making it such a memorable experience.
When you start planning a safari, you quickly realize just how many operators there are, including some very large and well-known companies.
We compared quite a few options beforehand, but in the end we deliberately chose a smaller, more personal operator. Looking back, it was absolutely the right decision. The advice, the personal service and the value for money were by far the most convincing for us.
Our safari started in Arusha. The evening before the actual tour began, we were personally visited at the Gran Meliá. We really appreciated this. You arrive full of excitement, but naturally you still have questions: How will the safari work? What can we expect? Is there anything we should know or prepare for? Having this personal meeting before setting off was perfect.
From Arusha, our route took us through several national parks and into the Serengeti, continuing all the way to the north. We saw an incredible amount of wildlife, experienced the Big Five and had so many unexpected moments along the way.
One of the absolute highlights of our entire trip was the hot-air balloon flight over the Serengeti. Floating above this incredible landscape early in the morning and seeing the wildlife from the air was simply unforgettable.
We continued through the Serengeti and later travelled via the Ngorongoro Crater, where we stayed overnight with an amazing view. From there, our journey took us via Lake Manyara back to Arusha. Some of the drives were long, but they were also fascinating and allowed us to experience very different landscapes and see so much more of Tanzania.
A very important part of our experience was our german speaking guide, James. Calm, attentive, highly experienced and simply a genuinely pleasant person to be around. When you spend almost a week travelling together, the chemistry really matters. With James, it was right from the very first day. We always felt safe, relaxed and very well looked after.
It was also the small things that made a real difference. When we realized that we had forgotten something, they took care of it for us even though our actual safari had already finished. And because our return flight departed from Nairobi, they arranged for us to be driven all the way from Arusha to Nairobi. Especially when crossing the border, you realize how reassuring it is to have someone with you who knows exactly how everything works and guides you through the process safely and professionally.
Before our safari, we had already spent a week in Zanzibar, which we had organized separately. Knowing what we know now, we would book that part of the trip through them as well. During our journey, we experienced just how personally they work, how competitive their rates are and how easy they make everything. If we travel to Tanzania again, we would put the entire trip in their hands.
Trust is a big factor when booking a safari. At first, you don't know the company or the people personally, yet you are putting a very special trip, one you may have been looking forward to for a long time, into their hands. From our first contact until the very last day, that trust was more than justified.
We have already recommended them to friends who are planning a safari themselves, telling them: You can contact them and book with complete confidence. I think that probably says more than anything else.
For us, it was a fantastic journey with memories that will stay with us for a very long time. We would travel with them again without hesitation.

Warm and kind people, making my trip relaxing and carefree
First of all I want to express my sincere thankfulness to my tour operator Brown and my driver and Arusha tour guide Shedrack.
Brown has always been responsive, patience and kind to all my questions and concerns before and along the whole trip to Tanzania. I was considering booking a private safari but didn't feel conpletely comfortable due to several sexual harassment experiences in my previous tours in other countries. When Brown knew my concern, he vontunteered to accompany me to ensure my safety if he could make the time to join me. And in the end he did! That meant a lot to me and made me trip more carefree.
Shedrack is a kind, open-minded and supportive guy. We had lots of nice chats during our trip. He also brought me the famous banana wine! On my last day, there was some miscommunication within Wild Serenity Safaris, so I was sent to the wrong airport and couldn't catch my original flight. Shedrack really tried his best to help me, looked for alternatives, and made me feel I am not alone. I really appreciate all the effort Shedrack has made to support me in the stressed and chaotic situation, regardless he was also tired (driving contineously for 6 hours between different airports and traffic jams) himself!
Of course I want to thank my safari tour guide Brighton. He is an experienced guide and a funny guy. I recommend everyone to join his tour. You will not only have the amazing experience with animals, but also the whole nice time during the drive.
