The park, named after the Tarangire River—known as the “river of warthogs”—is a vital water source during the dry season and famous for its large elephant herds. Keep an eye out for giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and their predators, including lions and leopards. Tarangire is also home to more breeding bird species than anywhere else on Earth, and its ancient baobab trees, some over a thousand years old, create a truly magical landscape.
