Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

Arrival in Arusha

Your adventure begins with your arrival either in Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport. Arusha is the gateway to Tanzania’s Northern Circuit. You will be warmly welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel for relaxation and the entire safari program briefing.

Depending on your arrival time, you may explore some of Arusha’s popular attractions. Visit the vibrant Maasai Market to browse handcrafted jewelry, fabrics, and souvenirs, or discover the fascinating story of Tanzania’s precious gemstone at The Tanzanite Experience.

You may also enjoy a short city tour to experience local culture, cafés, and daily life. This gentle introduction allows you to settle in comfortably while beginning to immerse yourself in the rich heritage and atmosphere of northern Tanzania before your wilderness adventure unfolds. Later this evening you will get to your hotel for an overnight and the next day's safari preparation.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your safari adventure begins as you depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, traveling through the scenic Maasai plains dotted with acacia trees and grazing livestock. Upon arrival, embark on a full day game drive in this iconic park, famous for its large elephant herds, majestic baobab trees, and abundant wildlife including zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, buffalo, and lions.

From the open-roof safari vehicle, observe animals at the seasonal swamps and along the Tarangire River, which attracts migratory species during the dry season. As the sun sets over the savannah, enjoy the colors and tranquility of the African wilderness.

Later, transfer to your accommodation in Africa Safari Manyara Escarpment for dinner and overnight stay, resting in comfort while reflecting on the day’s incredible wildlife encounters. As you prepare for the next day's adventure.

Lake Natron

After an early breakfast you will check out and depart for the stunning landscapes of Lake Natron and the slopes of Ol doinyo Lengai mountain. The journey takes you through rolling Maasai plains, dotted with traditional villages and scattered acacia trees, offering opportunities to glimpse local culture along the way.

Upon arrival, take in the surreal beauty of the lake with its striking red-hued waters and flocks of flamingos that often line the shore. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk to view the surrounding escarpments, dramatic cliffs, and the sacred Ol Doinyo Lengai, known as the “Mountain of God”, the only active carbonatite volcano in the world. Day 4-5

Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at Lake Natron, you will depart for Central Serengeti, traveling through scenic Maasai lands and the Great Rift Valley plains, with wildlife sightings along the way including giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. Upon arrival, embark on your first afternoon game drive, exploring the Seronera area, famous for its high concentration of predators and abundant wildlife.

On Day 5, enjoy a full day of game drives in Central Serengeti, with morning and afternoon sessions to maximize wildlife encounters. Spot lions lounging under acacia trees, leopards stealthily resting in the branches, cheetahs sprinting across the plains, and large herds of elephants and wildebeests roaming freely. Take in the breathtaking landscapes, perfect for photography and sunsets over the endless savannah.

In the evenings, return to your lodge to relax, dine, and reflect on your immersive safari experience, preparing for your journey northward to the remote regions of Northern Serengeti.

Day 6-7

Northern Serengeti National Park

After breakfast in Central Serengeti, you will depart for Northern Serengeti, traveling through the park’s vast wilderness while enjoying game viewing enroute. Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests as you traverse this less-visited, pristine region.
Upon arrival, settle into your lodge or camp before embarking on an afternoon game drive in the remote northern plains, where wildlife is abundant and landscapes are dramatic.

On Day 7, spend a full day exploring Northern Serengeti, including the Mara River region during migration season, witnessing thousands of wildebeests and zebras crossing and facing the challenges of the river and crocodiles. Observe lions, cheetahs, and elephants against a backdrop of rolling savannah, riverine forests, and open plains. Return to your lodge in the evening to relax, enjoy dinner, and reflect on the thrilling wildlife encounters, preparing for your journey south toward Ngorongoro the next day.

Day 8

Southern Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands

After breakfast in Northern Serengeti, you will set off on a scenic drive south toward the Ngorongoro Highlands. Along the way, enjoy a game drive through the southern Serengeti, where wildlife is abundant and the landscapes change from open plains to rolling hills and acacia woodlands.

Spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, and buffalo, and keep an eye out for predators such as lions and cheetahs as they roam the savannah. The route offers excellent photographic opportunities of sweeping vistas, kopjes, and seasonal rivers. As you ascend into the Ngorongoro Highlands, take in the panoramic views of the crater rim and the surrounding highlands.

Arrive at your lodge in Karatu near the Ngorongoro Area, where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and reflect on the day’s wildlife encounters and breathtaking scenery, preparing for the next day’s descent into the famous Ngorongoro Crater.

After a breathtaking breakfast at your lodge in Karatu, you will descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife destinations. The crater floor stretches over 102 square miles and hosts an incredible concentration of wildlife.

Your morning and afternoon game drives take you through lush grasslands, acacia woodlands, and swamps, providing opportunities to see elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and even the rare black rhino. Birdlife is abundant, and you may spot flamingos along the soda lakes.

Stop at scenic viewpoints for photographs and enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the breathtaking scenery. In the late afternoon, ascend back to the crater rim, marveling at the dramatic vistas, and return to your lodge in Karatu to relax and enjoy dinner while reflecting on the extraordinary day spent in this natural wonder.
