Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

We will pick you up from your hotel or at the airport and transfer you to the Masai Mara for your safari experience, with a departure for a picturesque drive descending the Great Rift Valley and onwards to Masai Mara, Kenya's famous game reserve. Stop briefly en route at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to enjoy the stunning views of an enormous valley system said to be visible from outer space. Arrive in Masai Mara in time for lunch. After lunch, we will have an afternoon game drive which will allow spotting of the magnificent wildlife in the park. The reserve is known for providing excellent predator sightings thanks to its relatively large population of lions, cheetahs and leopards. Bordering Tanzania, the Mara is in the northern extension of Serengeti and forms a wildlife corridor between the two countries. You'll return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Masai Mara National Reserve

On this day you will be taken on two game drives, one in the morning before breakfast and the other in the evening. Early mornings and evenings are considered the best time to spot animals as they are most active. To get some of the best game viewings of the day, an early start is needed to beat the heat of the sun. This is the time that the big cats are most active and can provide some of the most dramatic photography, thanks to the beautiful lighting. Although it might be tempting to stay in bed and wait until the afternoon to explore, I promise you this is a game drive you don't want to miss. An optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost. You can visit the nearby Maasai village after breakfast to get a chance to see the Maasai way of life (optional). Return to the camp for lunch before setting out for an evening game drive where you will be driven over rolling grassland dotted with a mixture of acacia trees and plain game.

Masai Mara to Nairobi

At the break of dawn, you will have your leisurely breakfast. Check out for a return road transfer to Nairobi. You'll have an onward drop-off to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home or at your hotel for your overnight stay.
