You will start with a scheduled flight from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit. Upon arrival we will have one of the lodge representatives will be waiting for you and then transfer you to Emhosheni River Lodge in time for lunch and settle into the tranquil rhythm of the bush. After a warm welcome and a delicious meal, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure—unwind at the swimming pool or relax in your Riverview Chalet, taking in the sights and sounds of the Olifants River.
Later, savour high tea or a refreshing drink on the deck as you watch for animals moving in and around the lodge. At 15h30, depart in an open safari vehicle for an afternoon game drive in the Parsons Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park, where you’ll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat.
Return to the lodge around 18h30 for pre‑dinner drinks, followed by a sumptuous three‑course dinner served under the African stars—a perfect end to your first day on safari.

Depart Emhosheni River Lodge at 05h00 in an open safari vehicle for an unforgettable, guided full‑day journey into Kruger National Park. As the sun rises, your guide will help you search for predators on the move, grazing herds and a rich variety of birdlife, while sharing insights about the park’s ecosystems and inhabitants.
Spend the day exploring different areas of Kruger, with scheduled stops for breakfast and lunch at rest camps or picnic sites (meals for your own account, unless otherwise specified). The changing landscapes and varied habitats offer excellent chances to encounter the Big Five and many other iconic species.
Return to the lodge at around 18h30, where you can freshen up and enjoy a well‑earned drink before sitting down to a delicious three‑course dinner served under the African stars—an atmospheric end to a remarkable day on safari.

Day 3
Comfort in a private reserve
Comfort in a private reserve
Begin your day at 06h00 with a guided bush walk in the breathtaking Parsons Nature Reserve. Moving quietly on foot, your guide will interpret tracks, scents and sounds, introducing you to the smaller details of the bush—plants, insects, birds and animal behaviour that you might miss from a vehicle.
Return to the lodge by around 09h00 for a hearty breakfast, then enjoy some free time to relax. Cool off in the pool, stretch out on a lounger or simply soak up the riverside views and sounds of the bush.
At 13h30, sit down to a delicious lunch in the restaurant. The rest of the afternoon is yours to spend as you wish: unwind in your chalet and watch wildlife from the deck.
At 15h30, head out again on an afternoon game drive, exploring a different area of the reserve as the light softens and animals become more active. After sunset, return to the lodge for evening drinks, followed by a sumptuous three‑course dinner—another perfect night under the African sky.

Day 4

Depart the lodge at 06h00 with our guide in a comfortable, closed safari vehicle for a full‑day Panorama Route excursion into the Drakensberg escarpment and the magnificent Blyde River Canyon.
As you wind your way up into the mountains, you’ll stop at some of the region’s most celebrated viewpoints (time and weather permitting), such as Three Rondavels, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and God’s Window, where sheer cliffs, deep gorges and endless horizons create unforgettable photo opportunities. Your guide will share insights into the area’s geology, history and local culture along the way. There will be time for comfort stops, browsing curios and enjoying lunch at a local eatery (for your own account).
Return to the lodge at approximately 18h00, with the day’s spectacular scenery still fresh in your mind. Freshen up, then sit down to a delicious three‑course dinner served under the African stars—a relaxed, atmospheric end to your Panorama Day.

Enjoy a morning game drive, then you will be transferred through to Tangala Safari Camp after breakfast. This Camp offers an intimate big five safari experience with eco-friendly accommodations in one of South Africa's premier game reserves, combined with world-class game drives and comfortable amenities. The camp is situated in the heart of Thornybush Game Reserve, which borders the Greater Kruger National Park and is renowned for big five wildlife viewing.37 Guests enjoy sweeping views of an active waterhole with the Drakensberg Mountain Range as a backdrop, providing constant opportunities for wildlife observation.
The Camp offers two daily safari activities (sunrise and sunset game drives). During the day, take a dip in the refreshing swimming pool overlooking the waterhole.

The final game drive feels unhurried but somehow sharper; your senses tuned to every detail. This is your last chance to stand out in the Thornybush wilderness before you trade it for airport check-ins and departure boards. Back at Camp, sit down to a familiar spread – fruit, cereals, yogurt, followed by a hot cooked breakfast if you choose – while your bags are collected from your tent or chalet and loaded discreetly into the transfer vehicle. At reception, you settle any extras and say goodbye to the staff, whose faces have become familiar over your stay. The team helps you into the vehicle and your luggage is secured. It’s usually a comfortable road transfer of about 45–60 minutes to Hoedspruit’s Eastgate Airport.
