Welcome to Nairobi – Your Gentle Introduction to the Heart of Kenya

Welcome to Nairobi – Your Gentle Introduction to the Heart of Kenya

Jambo! Welcome to Kenya.

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be met by one of our dedicated representatives and transferred to Crossroads Hotel Nairobi, a comfortable, well-positioned base that offers convenience without city chaos.

If you arrive early and feel up to it, I recommend one gentle introduction:

• Hand-feeding Rothschild's giraffes at the Giraffe Centre
• Visiting rescued elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
• A guided visit to the Karen Blixen Museum
• Or a relaxed 2-hour city walking tour

These visits directly support wildlife rehabilitation and conservation education, not just sightseeing.

We keep Day 1 flexible. Long-haul travel is real. The goal is to ease you into Africa, not overwhelm you.

Day 2

Into the Rift – Scenic Overland Journey to the Legendary Masai Mara

Into the Rift – Scenic Overland Journey to the Legendary Masai Mara

After breakfast, you depart by road, and this drive matters.
You descend into the Great Rift Valley, pausing at the escarpment where the land drops dramatically below. It’s geography on a grand scale. From there, farmland slowly gives way to acacia-dotted plains.
Arriving by road gives you context. You see Kenya unfold. You feel distance. The savannah doesn’t appear suddenly; it reveals itself.
Your tented camp is intimate, canvas-based, and designed to blend into its surroundings. It operates on solar power, uses refillable water systems, and employs predominantly local Maasai staff, ensuring your stay supports both conservation and community livelihoods.
Afternoon game drive begins your immersion properly.

Main Destination:
Masai Mara National Reserve
Best Time To Visit June to October (For general wildlife viewing) and July or August to October (For wildebeest migration)

Day 3

Untamed Mara – Dawn Predator Tracking & the Great Migration's Path

Untamed Mara – Dawn Predator Tracking & the Great Migration's Path

This is where safari becomes real.
You start early, not because it’s fashionable, but because predators move at dawn. The Mara rewards patience. You track lion prides. Follow cheetahs scanning the plains. Observe elephant herds moving with quiet authority.
If traveling between July and October, you position carefully near river crossings for the Great Wildebeest Migration. It’s never guaranteed, and that’s part of the authenticity. This is wild Africa, not a theme park.
Midday can be a bush picnic or rest at camp.
Your camp’s low-impact footprint, from solar energy use to carefully managed waste systems, ensures the ecosystem remains as untouched as possible.
Evening returns you to camp, lanterns glowing softly against canvas.

The Luxury of Time – Immersive Wildlife Photography & Maasai Culture

The Luxury of Time – Immersive Wildlife Photography & Maasai Culture

This third night in the Mara is a deliberate choice for the true traveler; it is the moment safari pressure evaporates and the rhythm of the wild takes over. With no rush to pack up, sink into the savannah’s pace and follow your instincts.

Today, the itinerary is in your hands:

Reconnect with the Wild: Revisit a promising lion sighting to see how the pride's story has unfolded.
The Art of the Hunt: Patiently track a cheetah coalition, a rare opportunity only available to slow travelers.
Off the Beaten Path: Explore a secluded corner of the reserve where only the wind rustles the grass.
Capture the Moment: Focus on your photography, waiting for that golden-hour light.
Cultural Connection: Join a Maasai village visit to meet the local community [Optional; $30 per person].

This third day allows the Mara’s magic to reveal itself naturally. Return to the candlelit comfort of Emayian Luxury Camp for a final evening under the star-studded sky.

Rift Valley Serenity – Boat Safaris & Hippo Sightings on Lake Naivasha

You journey back toward the Rift Valley lakes.
Naivasha feels softer. Greener. A decompression point.
Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort, your new accommodation, is spacious and set within beautiful gardens where giraffes often wander between acacia trees. The property supports local employment at scale and participates in regional environmental management programs protecting the fragile lake ecosystem.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided boat safari among hippos and fish eagles, or a walking safari on Crescent Island.
This day intentionally lowers the tempo before you shift landscapes again.

Hell's Gate and Onward to the Majestic Amboseli NP

Morning at Hell’s Gate, one of Kenya’s few parks where walking or cycling among wildlife is possible. It’s dramatic, geological, and active.
Late morning, you drive to Nairobi for lunch, then continue south to Amboseli.
Arrival is timed for an afternoon game drive.
Kilima Safari Camp sits in a prime position with views toward Kilimanjaro. The camp integrates solar energy systems and works closely with surrounding Maasai communities, reinforcing conservation outside formal park boundaries.
If the mountain clears at sunset, you’ll understand why this place is legendary.

Land of Giants - Watching Africa's Biggest Tuskers Under Mount Kilimanjaro's Peak

Land of Giants - Watching Africa's Biggest Tuskers Under Mount Kilimanjaro's Peak

Early start in Amboseli isn't just a recommendation; it’s a front-row seat to one of Africa’s most cinematic spectacles. As the first light hits the plains, the legendary "Big Tuskers", some of the last of their kind on earth, emerge from the golden dust like ghosts of a bygone era. Above them, the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro stands guard, revealing its full majesty before the midday clouds gather. For the ultimate perspective, you head to Observation Hill. From this vantage point, you can survey the vast, fragile ecosystem below, where underground springs from the mountain give life to emerald-green swamps teeming with elephants and hippos. After a morning of discovery, you return for a relaxed breakfast and rest. By visiting, your journey directly funds the anti-poaching operations that keep this sanctuary safe. It is a place that feels open, purposeful, and profoundly alive.

Savannah to Sea – Amboseli to Diani Beach via SGR & Coastal Transfer

After breakfast, you depart Amboseli by road, heading toward Emali. This drive offers one last look at Amboseli’s open plains before transitioning into Kenya’s changing landscapes.

At Standard Gauge Railway Kenya (Emali Station), you board the modern Madaraka Express for your journey to the coast. The train is comfortable, efficient, and offers a different perspective of the country as you pass through Tsavo’s vast wilderness. Keep an eye out for elephants and other wildlife along the way.

Upon arrival at the Mombasa Terminus, you are met and transferred to Diani Beach via the scenic Dongo Kundu Bypass, avoiding the Likoni ferry and ensuring a smooth, uninterrupted journey.

By late afternoon, you arrive at Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort, where the rhythm of the Indian Ocean replaces the pace of safari.

The rest of the day is yours.

Coastal Bliss – Indian Ocean Ease, Coral Reefs & Swahili Relaxation

Today is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Along the soft white sands of Diani Beach, the rhythm of the ocean gently sets the tone. You might start with a quiet walk as the tide reveals tiny shells and sand dollars, or simply relax under a palm with the sound of waves in the background.

Feels like exploring? The nearby Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park offers some of East Africa’s best snorkeling. These coral reefs are home to colorful fish, sea turtles, and even dolphins. Traditional dhow boats still follow ancient Swahili sailing routes. Sunset cruises here feel timeless. A visit to Colobus Conservation reveals how local efforts are protecting rare monkeys along the coast.

Whether you choose adventure or stillness, the coast invites you to slow down and simply be.

You then board your domestic flight with Jambojet from Mombasa to Nairobi, arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your onward international flight home.
