The Tarangire River draws giraffe, zebra, antelope and buffalo to its banks year-round – and the predators that follow them. Lion are a reliable presence in the park and regularly seen.
The night drive runs for a couple of hours after dinner, when the savannah shifts into a different register entirely. Genet, civet, porcupine and bushbaby move through the darkness in ways that daylight hours don't reveal. Fewer vehicles are out at night, which means the landscape tends to feel quieter and more immediate – the sounds of the bush carrying further when there's less to see.

Your second day opens up the sections of the park you didn't reach yesterday. Gerenuk and oryx are both present here – species rarely seen in the Serengeti – and worth looking for in the drier, more open stretches. For birders, Tarangire records over 550 species; binoculars are in the vehicle.
The walking safari covers different ground – an hour and a half on foot with a ranger, at a pace that opens up what a vehicle moves past too quickly. Mongoose, guinea fowl and vervet monkey are common; fresh elephant and buffalo tracks in the soil tell you what passed through before you arrived.

Final Day in Tarangire
Final Day in Tarangire
A third day in Tarangire shifts something. The park's rhythms become more familiar – animal behaviour starts to read differently, and the quieter corners of the landscape begin to reveal themselves. Your guide will take you into sections away from the main routes, where cheetah are occasionally found resting in the shade of acacia, and lion prides tend to linger into the morning. Some of the most unforgettable wildlife moments happen when you least expect them!

Our driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the airport in time for your flight. Standard hotel check-out time is 10:00 AM.
