Upon landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), meet your safari guide and begin the scenic drive north through Kenya’s central highlands. Wake up to the sounds of the bush and set out early for a morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. Explore the rugged terrain and riverbanks of Samburu National Reserve, searching for elephants, lions, leopards, and the “Samburu Special Five” — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. Return to camp for breakfast and leisure time, perhaps enjoying the pool or views of the reserve. After lunch, head out again for an afternoon game drive, following the Ewaso Nyiro River where crocodiles thrive.
