Nairobi to Amboseli

Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading southeast along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. As you leave the urban sprawl, the landscape transitions into the vast, open savanna of Kajiado County, home to the Maasai people. Upon arrival at Nyati Camp, you will be welcomed with a traditional lunch and a brief orientation. The camp’s rustic, eco-friendly atmosphere provides an immediate sense of immersion in the wild. After a short period of relaxation to avoid the midday equatorial heat, you will head into Amboseli National Park for an afternoon game drive. This is the prime time to visit the Enkongo Narok marshes, where hippos wallow and massive "Big Tusker" elephants congregate to feed on the lush swamp vegetation. As the sun begins to set, the dust kicked up by zebra and wildebeest creates a golden haze, offering spectacular photographic opportunities before you return to Nyati Camp for dinner and a night under the stars.

Sunrise over the Peak & Return to Nairobi

The second day starts before dawn to capitalize on the "golden hour" of wildlife activity. This is your best opportunity to see the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro clearly, as the clouds often roll in by mid-morning. You will drive to Observation Hill, a volcanic pyramid that offers a panoramic 360-degree view of the entire park, including the shimmering salt pans of Lake Amboseli and the emerald-green swamps teeming with buffalo and birdlife. After witnessing the predator-prey dynamics of the early morning, you will return to Nyati Camp for a hearty late breakfast. Following check-out, you will enjoy a final short game drive while exiting the park, keeping a keen eye out for cheetahs or lions resting in the shade of acacia trees. The drive back to Nairobi concludes in the late afternoon, leaving you with memories of the iconic African skyline and the gentle giants that roam beneath it.
