Your route passes near the majestic Ngorongoro Crater, offering a chance to spot wildlife along the way. As you enter the vast plains, the golden savannah stretches endlessly before you, dotted with acacia trees and teeming with life — it's easy to see why the Serengeti is celebrated as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders.

You’ll pause for a delightful picnic lunch atop a kopje, a rocky hill rising from the plains, providing stunning panoramic views of the wilderness. You will begin the day in the Central Serengeti, where you will have lunch and view game. The wildlife in the Serengeti is extremely diverse. There are regular sightings of lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, elands, wild dogs, gazelles, crocodiles, giraffes, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos and antelopes. A few factors will affect the game you spot, such as the migration of the herds and the season.

Day 4

Early in the morning, you’ll depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most breathtaking wildlife havens. As you drive from Serengeti, enjoy a scenic en-route game drive — an excellent time to spot wildlife. The crater’s unique ecosystem shelters a dense concentration of animals, offering one of the best chances to see all members of the legendary Big Five: the mighty lion, towering elephant, elusive leopard, rugged rhino, and powerful buffalo.

Formed millions of years ago by a massive volcanic eruption, the crater now teems with life — zebras, hippos, wildebeests, and playful hyenas roam freely. Elegant flamingos paint the soda lake pink, while vultures, storks, and geese fill the skies above. After an incredible day of exploration, you’ll ascend from the crater floor and return to your lodge for a relaxing evening, dinner, and overnight stay.

Lake Manyara national park to Arusha

This impressive park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas. It consists of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s Western escarpment.

The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. Manyara also offers a variety of activities, such as a walking safari with an armed ranger, canoeing on the lake, and a night game drive (for an extra cost). After an astonishing game drive, you will be transferred back to Arusha for drop-off at your lodge of choice.
