Northern Serengeti National park

After an early breakfast, you will depart for a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park, heading toward the northern region near the Mara River (approximately 3–4 hours, depending on wildlife sightings along the way). This area is famous for the dramatic Great Migration river crossings.

As you travel across the endless plains, you may encounter large herds of wildebeest and zebras, giraffes browsing on acacia trees, elephants roaming the savannah, and predators such as lions, cheetahs, or hyenas following the herds. With patience and a bit of luck, you might witness thousands of wildebeest gathering at the riverbanks before crossing the crocodile-filled waters.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness while observing wildlife activity around the river and plains. Game viewing continues throughout the afternoon before returning in the evening to Heritage Mara Camp for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Begin the day with an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, when wildlife is most active. From scenic viewpoints and open plains, you may see large herds of wildebeest and zebras, along with giraffes, elephants, and predators such as lions or cheetahs following the migration. Your guide will track the movement of the herds, giving you the best chance to witness the remarkable Great Migration, where over a million wildebeest and thousands of zebras move across the Serengeti in search of fresh grazing.

After breakfast and continued wildlife viewing, you will enjoy a picnic lunch before beginning the journey toward Karatu (approximately 5–6 hours drive), passing through the scenic highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The crater hosts an incredible concentration of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, lions, zebras, wildebeests, and, if lucky, the rare black rhino.

Around midday, enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, watching hippos relax in the water while surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Continue exploring before ascending the crater and driving back to Arusha (approximately 3–4 hours) for your drop-off at the airport.

We sincerely thank you for choosing this safari and hope you enjoyed every moment. May the memories of Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes stay with you, and we look forward to welcoming you again.
