Day 1
Machame Gate – Machame Camp
Machame Gate – Machame Camp
Your climb begins with a drive to Machame Gate, where registration takes place inside Kilimanjaro National Park. After meeting the mountain crew, the trek starts through lush rainforest filled with towering trees, ferns, and wildlife. The trail gradually climbs to Machame Camp, where you will spend your first night on the mountain.

Day 2
Machame Camp – Shira Camp
Machame Camp – Shira Camp
After breakfast, the trail becomes steeper as you leave the rainforest and enter the moorland zone. The vegetation changes to giant heather and volcanic rock formations. As you climb higher, you will enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscapes.

Day 3
Shira Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp
Shira Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp
Today is an important acclimatization day. The trail climbs gradually toward the famous Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” strategy helps your body adjust to the altitude.
Elevation: 3,840 m to 4,600 m then down to 3,960 m

Day 4
Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp
Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp
The day begins with the exciting climb up the famous Barranco Wall, a steep but manageable scramble with incredible views. After reaching the top, the trail continues through valleys and ridges before arriving at Karanga Camp.

Day 5
Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp
Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp
Today’s trek leads to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. The terrain becomes more rugged and rocky as you climb higher into the alpine desert zone. After arriving at camp, you will rest and prepare for the midnight summit attempt.

Day 6
Barafu Camp – Summit – Mweka Camp
Barafu Camp – Summit – Mweka Camp
Your summit attempt begins around midnight. The climb is challenging but incredibly rewarding as you ascend to Stella Point and finally reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating and taking photos, descend to Mweka Camp for rest.
Elevation: 4,640 m → 5,895 m → 3,100 m
Hiking Time: 10–14 hours

Day 7
Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate
Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate
After breakfast, descend through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate. Here you will receive your summit certificate before transferring back to Moshi to celebrate your incredible achievement.
