Rongai Gate – Simba Camp

Your trek begins at Rongai Gate after completing park registration inside Kilimanjaro National Park. The trail climbs gently through farmland and pine forest before reaching Simba Camp, where you will spend your first night on the mountain.

Day 2
Simba Camp – Second Cave Camp
Simba Camp – Second Cave Camp
Leave Simba Camp and continue trekking through the moorland zone. The trail offers spectacular views of the northern slopes of Kilimanjaro and the plains of Kenya. Arrive at Second Cave Camp where you will rest and continue acclimatizing to the altitude.

Second Cave Camp – Kikelewa Camp
Second Cave Camp – Kikelewa Camp
Today’s trail gradually ascends through beautiful alpine landscapes with unique vegetation such as giant groundsels and lobelias. The terrain becomes steeper as you approach Kikelewa Camp, located in a sheltered valley with stunning mountain views.

Day 4
Kikelewa Camp – Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Kikelewa Camp – Mawenzi Tarn Camp
The trail climbs steadily to Mawenzi Tarn, located beneath the dramatic peaks of Mawenzi Peak. This scenic camp is surrounded by rugged mountain terrain and offers a great opportunity for acclimatization.

Day 5
Mawenzi Tarn – Kibo Hut
Mawenzi Tarn – Kibo Hut
Cross the vast alpine desert known as the Saddle, located between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The landscape here is dry and open with spectacular views of Kibo Peak. Arrive at Kibo Hut to prepare for the midnight summit attempt.

Day 6
Kibo Hut – Summit – Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate
Kibo Hut – Summit – Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate
Your summit attempt begins around midnight. Climb to Gilman's Point and continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). After celebrating, descend to Horombo Hut for a short rest and continue to Marangu Gate before transferring back to Moshi.
