Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide who will brief you about your cultural safari.
After the welcome, begin a scenic drive through the countryside toward the highland town of Karatu, located near the Ngorongoro highlands. Along the way you will pass small villages, farms, and beautiful landscapes that introduce you to the rural life of Tanzania.
Upon arrival in Karatu, check in at your lodge, relax, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the area. Dinner and overnight in Karatu.

Day 2

Lake Eyasi Cultural Experience

Lake Eyasi Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Eyasi, a remote and beautiful area located south of the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Here you will experience a unique cultural encounter with the Hadzabe bushmen, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in East Africa. You may join them for a traditional hunting activity and learn about their survival skills, including how they track animals and make fire using natural materials. Later, visit the Datoga tribe who are well known for their traditional blacksmithing skills and craftsmanship.
After this fascinating cultural experience, return to Karatu for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

After breakfast, drive to the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of the most famous conservation areas in Africa and home to the Maasai community.
During your visit you will experience the culture and lifestyle of the Maasai people, known for their colorful clothing, traditional dances, and strong pastoral traditions. You may visit a traditional Maasai boma (homestead) to learn about their daily life, cattle keeping, and unique customs.

While in the area, you will also enjoy stunning views of the Ngorongoro highlands and surrounding landscapes before returning to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Mto wa Mbu Cultural Tour – Departure

After breakfast, drive to the lively village of Mto wa Mbu, located near the Great Rift Valley escarpment. This village is famous for its multicultural community where many Tanzanian tribes live together.
During a guided village walk you will visit local farms, banana plantations, local markets, and craft workshops where you can see traditional art and handicrafts. You will also learn about local farming methods and traditional food preparation.

After the cultural experience, drive back to Arusha for transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport, marking the end of your memorable cultural safari in Northern Tanzania.
