Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative (your private driver guide) and after briefing about the safari and what to expect, you will go for a short Kigali City Tour visiting the National Museum, Genocide Memorial Centre, Kimironko Market and other amazing sites.
Enjoy lunch at the restaurants in the city, then embark on a journey to Volcanoes National Park – home to the Gentle Giants. Along the way you will appreciate the beautiful landscape of Rwanda and get to know why it is crowned the “land of a thousand hills”. On arrival in Ruhengeri, a beautiful town below the Virunga Volcanoes, check in at your lodge and spend the evening at rest as you prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Gorilla Trekking Experience and Departure

Wake up early, enjoy breakfast and head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing about gorilla trekking by a senior ranger guide. In groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, head into the forest in search for mountain gorillas. The experience is tedious but impressive when you finally face to mountain gorillas.
You will spend one hour observing these gorilla families as they go about their daily routine, mothers caring for the little ones, the juveniles playing as well as feeding. Maintain a good distance as you watch the gorillas. You are free to take pictures as long as your flashlight is off as it may irritate the gorillas.
Gorilla trekking takes approximately 2 to 8 hours. Right after trekking, you will return to the park headquarters where you will find your driver and transfer you back to Kigali with en-route lunch. You will be dropped off either at the hotel or at airport to catch your flight back home or to your next destination.
