Nairobi - Amboseli With Best Roadside Views

Your Amboseli elephant and Mount Kilimanjaro safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi.

The journey travels south through scenic countryside and traditional Maasai lands, offering views of open savannah landscapes before reaching Amboseli National Park.

Upon arrival, check in at your safari lodge or tented camp and enjoy lunch followed by time to relax. In the afternoon, depart for your first game drive across the dusty plains of Amboseli, where you may encounter large elephant herds, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, lions, and a variety of birdlife. On clear days, the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro forms an incredible backdrop for wildlife photography. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Full Day in Amboseli National Park

The second day is dedicated to exploring the diverse landscapes of Amboseli National Park, often called the “Land of Giants” because of its impressive elephant population.

After breakfast, enjoy an extended game drive through the park’s grasslands, wetlands, and seasonal lakes. Amboseli’s swamps attract a high concentration of wildlife including buffalo, hippos, waterbirds, and predators such as lions and hyenas.

The park is also famous for its birdlife, with species such as flamingos, pelicans, and herons often seen near the wetlands. During the day you may enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and optional cultural interaction with the Maasai community, learning about their traditions and lifestyle. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Ambosei with return back to Nairobi

On the final day, wake up early for a sunrise game drive, one of the best times to photograph elephants moving across the plains with Mount Kilimanjaro glowing in the morning light.

Wildlife is particularly active in the cool early hours before the day becomes warm.

After breakfast at the lodge, check out and begin the return drive to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon and marking the end of your memorable Kenya wildlife safari adventure.
