Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel, Airport or Ferry in Dar es Salaam and begin your journey to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). Upon arrival, you will check in at Selous Safari Lodge and enjoy a hot lunch while taking in the tranquil surroundings of the African wilderness. In the afternoon, you will embark on a scenic boat safari along the Rufiji River, one of the park’s most unique experiences. This activity offers excellent opportunities to spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species, while elephants and other wildlife are often seen along the riverbanks. After the excursion, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will depart for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park, one of Africa’s largest protected wildlife areas. With a packed lunch, you will explore a variety of habitats, including open plains, woodlands, and riverine ecosystems. The park is home to an abundance of wildlife such as elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and the rare African wild dogs. Your professional driver-guide will provide insights into animal behavior and help you spot wildlife throughout the day. In the late afternoon, you will return to Selous safari lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3
Walking Safari – Transfer to Mikumi & Maasai Village Visit

Following breakfast, you will set out on a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger, offering a unique opportunity to explore the bush on foot and learn about smaller wildlife, plants, and tracking skills. After the walk, you will begin your journey to Mikumi National Park, enjoying scenic views of rural Tanzania along the way. Upon arrival, you will check in at Camp Bastian and take some time to relax. Later in the afternoon, you will visit a Maasai village, where you will experience their rich culture, traditions, and way of life through storytelling, dances, and interaction with the community. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will head out for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park, known for its open savannah landscapes that resemble the Serengeti. With a packed lunch, you will explore the park in search of wildlife such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and a variety of antelope species. Mikumi is also a great destination for birdwatching, offering sightings of numerous bird species. After an exciting day in the park, you will return to Camp Bastian for dinner and overnight.

Day 5
Mikumi – Dar es Salaam
Mikumi – Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, you will check out and begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam. Along the way, you will make a stop for a hot lunch at a restaurant before continuing your journey. You will arrive in Dar es Salaam in the late afternoon and Drop off in your preferred Location, (Airport, Ferry to Zanzibar or in your accommodation), marking the end of your safari filled with unforgettable wildlife and cultural experiences.
