Drive east to Awash National Park, one of Ethiopia’s prime birding destinations.
The park hosts a rich variety of birdlife including Red-bellied Parrots, Bustards, Weavers, Hoopoes, Yellow-throated Serin, Red-fronted Barbet, Pygmy Batis, and Lesser-striped Swallow.
Mammals commonly seen include Anubis Baboon, Black-backed Jackal, Bat-eared Fox, Warthog, Beisa Oryx, Soemmerring’s Gazelle, Lesser Kudu, and Salt’s Dik-dik.

Continue birding in Awash National Park
Alledeghi Plains are the much better protected of the two. One of the least explored areas in Africa, the Alledeghi Wildlife Reserve itself covers some 1,800 square kilometres, and includes grasslands, wooded rises and mountains to the south. In terms of wildlife, the reserve is one of Ethiopia’s most rewarding destinations, with seven lion prides, cheetah, Beisa oryx, Soemmerring’s gazelle, spotted hyena, Northern gerenuk and Grevy’s zebra. As with Awash, the birdlife is fantastic, and includes Somali ostrich, Arabian bustard, North carmine bee eater, Abyssinian roller and even Scissor-tailed kite.

Drive to Lake Langano with birding stops at Koka Dam, the Awash River, and Lake Ziway. Spot species such as; the African Pygmy Goose, Black-billed Woodhoopoe, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Northern Black Tit, Little Weaver, Yellow-billed storks, Collared Pratincole, Lesser Jacana, African Jacana, White Pelicans, Fish Eagles, and crowned and common cranes are seen here in impressive numbers.
A trip to Langano is a great idea! Located on the shores of Lake Langano, this charming town in Ethiopia offers a serene and peaceful getaway. You can spend your day relaxing on the beach, taking a boat ride on the lake, or exploring the surrounding hills and forests.
Be sure to visit the Langano Monastery, a historic and spiritual site that dates back to the 16th century. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Ethiopian dinner at one of the local restaurants and watch the sunset over the lake.

Drive from Langano to the Bale Mountains National Park, rated by the African Bird Club as the number 4 birding destination in Africa. Over 300 species of birds live here, six are endemic to Ethopia. Arrive at the park headquarters in the afternoon in time for a leisurely afternoon hike, possibly spotting two endemic mammals that frequent the area: Menelik’s Bushbuck and the Mountain Nyala. Birds in this area include the Blue-Winged Goose, the Spot-Breasted Lapwing, the Abyssinian Long Claw, the Wattled Ibis, the Black-Headed Siskin, Rouget’s Rail, and numerous other species.

Continue exploring Bale Mountains National Park and drive further into the interior. Spot birds such as Chestnut-naped Francolin, Ground Thrush (of the distinctive, endemic species Simensis), the secretive Abyssinia Ground- thrush, the vocal Abyssinian Catbird, and the endemic White-backed Black-Tit. If we are very fortunate, we will see a pair of the endangered Wattled Crane in the moist grasslands or spot a Cape Eagle- Lapwing, Thekla Lark, Red-breasted Wheatear, and Moorland chats. On the Senetti Plateau, (the largest continuous area of its altitude in Africa) look for the endemic and rare Ethiopian Red Wolf.

Visit Dinsho National park and Fly back to Addis Abeba
After breakfast, drive to Dinisho national park, here we do a one/two hours hike in the park to see some of the endemic wild life, Niyal, Minlick Bushbuck and others.
After, drive to Robe town for lunch break and depart at 14:25 and arrival in Addis 15:20.
This will be end of the Adventure.

Spot endemic treasures like the White-winged Cliff Chat, Black-headed Siskin, and Rüppell’s Black Chat alongside soaring Lammergeiers and elegant Augur Buzzards. The Jemma River Gorge adds breathtaking scenery and rare sightings such as the Harwood’s Francolin.
