You will start your day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains, one of the best wildlife viewing areas in the park. Here, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and if lucky, a leopard. The morning hours provide excellent lighting and active wildlife, making it a rewarding experience.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway is famous for its high concentration of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and a wide array of birdlife. After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off into the forest for your gorilla trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will trek through dense vegetation and rugged terrain in search of a habituated gorilla family.

The trek can vary in duration, but the reward is unforgettable. Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour observing them up close as they interact, feed, and care for their young. This is a deeply moving wildlife encounter and a highlight of any African safari.

You will return to your lodge in the afternoon for relaxation and to reflect on this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Later in the afternoon you can embark on a community walk for a batwa experience.
