Your journey begins with a morning pick-up in Kigali. After a brief city tour or a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, you will head north through the vibrant, terraced hills of northern Rwanda.
The crossing at the Katuna border leads you into the Kigezi Highlands of Uganda. The air cools as you ascend toward Bwindi, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to over half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Arrive at your lodge in the southern sector (Rushaga or Nkuringo) in time for a sundowner overlooking the ancient, misty canopy of the "Impenetrable Forest. This is the pinnacle of your adventure. Following an early breakfast and a safety briefing at the park headquarters, you will enter the forest with expert rangers. The trek can range from two to six hours, navigating thick vines and steep ridges in search of your assigned gorilla family.
Once found, you have one magical hour to observe these gentle giants as they feed, play, and interact—a life-changing wildlife connection. After the trek, you will receive your tracking certificate and take a short, 2-hour drive to Lake Bunyonyi. Arrive in time for an evening campfire by the water, reflecting on your morning in the jungle.

For those seeking a bit more adrenaline, zip-lining across the water offers a unique aerial view. After a lakeside lunch, you will begin the return journey across the border, arriving back in Kigali by late afternoon for your drop-off.
