Transfer from Kigali to Rushaga – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

You will be picked up from Kigali and begin a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills before crossing into Uganda. Continue to the Rushaga sector of Bwindi, arriving in the afternoon. The journey is smooth and offers beautiful landscapes along the way.

Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at leisure, preparing for the next day’s trek.

Gorilla Trekking Experience – Rushaga Sector

After an early breakfast, your Bush Wander private guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will then set out into the forest in search of a habituated gorilla family.

The trek can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watching their behavior up close is a powerful and humbling experience.

Return to the lodge for a relaxed afternoon and time to reflect on the experience.
