Gondar –Debark –Sankaber Camping

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Gondar to Debark, the gateway to the Simien Mountains. Here, park formalities are completed, and you meet your trekking team, including a licensed guide and scout.
Entering Simien Mountains National Park, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, the landscape quickly transforms into dramatic escarpments and rolling highlands. Enjoy a scenic game drive toward Sankaber, offering opportunities to spot endemic wildlife along the way. A short acclimatization trek begins near Sankaber, allowing you to adjust to the altitude while enjoying close encounters with wildlife. The highlight of the afternoon is observing large troops of Gelada baboon grazing peacefully across the cliffs—an iconic experience unique to this region.

Sankaber –Jinibar Waterfall –Gich Camping

After breakfast, the trek continues along the escarpment edge, offering breathtaking views of deep valleys and rugged cliffs. This is one of the most scenic trekking days in the Simien Mountains. A major highlight is the spectacular Jinibar Waterfall, which plunges dramatically into the gorge below, especially impressive during the wetter months. The trail then gradually ascends through open Afro-alpine terrain dotted with giant lobelia plants.
As you gain altitude, the panoramic vistas become even more expansive, showcasing the geological grandeur that defines the Simien range.

Gich –Imet Gogo –Return to Gondar

The final day begins with an early hike to Imet Gogo, one of the most celebrated viewpoints in Ethiopia. At nearly 4,000 meters above sea level, it offers a 360-degree panorama of dramatic escarpments, deep gorges, and distant peaks. This area is also a prime location to spot soaring lammergeiers and more geladas against a backdrop of breathtaking scenery. After taking in the views, you descend back to the vehicle access point and begin the return journey to Gondar. After arriving in Gondar, you will conclude your trip with a return flight to Addis Ababa.
