Your guide will meet you at the airport or your hotel to kick off the journey. The morning begins with a meaningful visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center before we head to Ruhengeri. After a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive and lunch, you'll check into your lodge. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund in Kinigi to learn about gorilla conservation. The rest of the evening is yours to relax and recharge for the adventures ahead.

Day 2

Following an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing on the essentials of golden monkey trekking. The trek typically takes between three to six hours, depending on where the monkeys are hanging out. Once you’re back, we’ll drive to the Cyanika border to handle the crossing into Uganda. From there, it’s a short trip to check into your lodge on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you can settle in for the night.

The drive to your next destination is incredibly scenic, taking you along winding roads through lush, vibrant landscapes. You’ll pass right through the heart of the mighty Queen Elizabeth National Park, so keep your eyes peeled for wildlife along the way. After stopping for lunch en route, you’ll arrive in the early evening to prepare for your Kalinzu chimpanzee trekking adventure. Depending on your energy levels, your guide can suggest a few optional activities to help you settle into this beautiful environment.

On your final day, we’ll enjoy a scenic drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park back toward Kigali. The journey takes you through rolling hills and vibrant tea plantations, offering one last look at the stunning East African landscape. We will stop for lunch along the way before heading to the border for immigration. Once back in Rwanda, your guide will drop you off at the airport for your at hotel, marking the end of an incredible journey through the heart of the primate world.
