Day 2-4
Andasibe National Park
Andasibe National Park
Journey east through highland rice terraces and village markets to Andasibe, where the rainforest begins to reclaim the earth. On your first evening, a guided night walk reveals the forest’s secret life: mouse lemurs, leaf-tailed geckos, and glowing fungi in the damp air.
The next day, step into Analamazoatra Reserve with your ranger. The call of the Indri, deep, resonant, unearthly, fills the morning air. Trails wind past orchids, lianas, and mossed trunks alive with movement. Every encounter reveals Madagascar’s singular biodiversity and the delicate balance that sustains it.
Before returning west, take one last forest walk in Mitsinjo, a community-managed reserve where conservation and local livelihoods intertwine. Look closely for the giraffe weevil, a tiny red-and-black marvel of evolution. After lunch, travel back to Antananarivo for the night.

Day 5-8
Mandrare River, Ifotaka Region
Mandrare River, Ifotaka Region
Fly south by light aircraft to Ifotaka, where the landscape transforms into ochre earth and silver thorn. The Mandrare River winds through a region sacred to the Antandroy people. A place of vast skies, spiny forests, and deep cultural roots.
Night walks in the Zenavo Forest reveal the forest’s dual life as its diurnal lemurs settle into sleep, and nocturnal species stir beneath the stars. Days unfold with visits to the sacred gallery forest, encounters with Verreaux’s sifaka and ring-tailed lemurs, and quiet moments with local villagers whose ancestral tombs lie beneath the baobabs.
Your flight returns you to Antananarivo for the night, where you can wander the old upper town with a historian as colonial villas, stone staircases, and panoramic terraces reveal the city’s layered identity.

Namoraka Tsingy, Mahajanga Region
Namoraka Tsingy, Mahajanga Region
From Tana, fly north by light aircraft to Soalala, continuing by road through mango groves and fishing villages to the edge of Namoroka National Park. Few travellers ever reach this corner of Madagascar; its isolation has preserved both its wildness and its quiet. The tsingy formations rise like the ruins of a vanished city. Explore on foot with your guide, crossing natural bridges of stone, discovering ancient caves, and observing the park’s rare wildlife: fossa, Aye Aye, and Von der Decken’s sifaka. Each evening, as the sun sinks behind the limestone spires, the forest returns to shadow and birdsong. You return to Tana at the end of your final day, for one last night in the capital.

Start your Journey Home
Start your Journey Home
This journey through Madagascar is less an itinerary than an unfolding; from lush rainforest to ancient desert to sculpted stone. It invites you to pause, to listen, and to see the island not as a destination but as a living story.
For travellers drawn to depth, texture, and stillness, this is a rare privilege: private access to Madagascar’s most pristine ecosystems, insight into local culture, and a rhythm of travel guided by purpose rather than pace.
You leave not with a checklist, but with resonance: the Indri’s call lingering in your mind, the soft heat of the spiny forest still in your skin, the memory of a country that moves to its own timeless rhythm. Madagascar teaches that true travel is about presence, and the art of being quietly changed.
