After breakfast, depart for Kibale National Park, a journey that showcases Uganda’s changing landscapes—from savannah plains to rolling hills and lush tea plantations. The drive is scenic and culturally rich, offering glimpses into rural life and local farming practices.
Arrive in Kibale in the afternoon and check into your lodge. Later, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk. This community-run project is a haven for birdlife and primates, including colobus monkeys and baboons.
The walk is not only about wildlife but also about culture. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with local communities, learn about traditional practices, and support sustainable tourism initiatives. Visits may include local homesteads, craft-making demonstrations, and storytelling sessions.
This experience offers a deeper understanding of life around Kibale Forest and enriches your safari beyond wildlife viewing.

Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading into Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale is known as the “primate capital of the world,” and tracking chimps here is both thrilling and educational.
Guided by experienced rangers, you’ll trek through the forest in search of these lively primates. Once found, you’ll spend time observing their social interactions feeding, grooming, and communicating through calls and gestures. The experience is dynamic, as chimps are constantly on the move, making it both exciting and immersive.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch before transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive offers scenic views of crater lakes and the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance.

Start your morning with a game drive in the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This area is famous for its lion populations, as well as elephants, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs. The open savannah makes wildlife spotting relatively easy and rewarding.
After lunch, embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is known for having one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa.
As you cruise along, you’ll see elephants and buffaloes gathering at the water’s edge, alongside crocodiles and a wide variety of bird species. The close proximity to wildlife makes this one of the most memorable boat experiences in Uganda.
Return to your lodge in the evening for relaxation and dinner.

Later, transfer to the remote Ishasha Sector, located in the southern part of the park. This area is famous for its unique tree-climbing lions, often seen resting on fig tree branches.
The journey itself is scenic and less crowded, giving you a more intimate safari experience. Arrive in Ishasha in the afternoon and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this lesser-visited region.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking.
The trek can be challenging but incredibly rewarding. Once you locate a gorilla family, you’ll spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat watching them feed, interact, and care for their young. This is often described as a life-changing experience.
After the trek, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, located in the Virunga Mountains.
