Day 1

Tarangire National Park – Introduction to Tanzanian Wildlife Ecosystem

Tarangire National Park – Introduction to Tanzanian Wildlife Ecosystem

Start from Arusha (Airport or Hotel) and drive to Tarangire National Park.

This day sets the foundation of the safari ecosystem. Large herds of African bush elephant dominate the landscape, alongside resident blue wildebeest and other plains game.

On this day you'll understand what causes animal migration, how the dry season affects animals movements across the savannah, why some wildebeest don't migrate & are considered residents of the park, and why the animals migrate to Tarangire National Park specifically.

Hopefully, by the end of Day-1, you'd be able to have an understanding of wildlife's ecosystem which acts as a foundation for next day's destination and game drive.

Exit the park in the evening and head to your accommodation in Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge.

Main Destination:
Tarangire National Park
Best Time To Visit July to November (Animals come to the Tarangire River)

Journey Into the Migration Corridor | Serengeti National Park (Transit to North)

Travel from Karatu region through Central Serengeti toward the Northern Serengeti-Mara region.

Game viewing en route shows early movement patterns and predator-prey dynamics before reaching the migration’s most dramatic stage.

Game viewing on this day will be focused on the Mara river and surrounding areas.

This is a great opportunity to not only see the River Crossing spectacle, but to also appreciate one of the biggest hurdles wildebeests face twice on a yearly basis during their annual migration.

Overnight at Baobab Mara Luxury Camp, positioned to give you front-row access to the spectacle.

Main Destination:
Northern Serengeti National Park
Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)
High Season July to March (The Seronera area is crowded)
Best Weather June to October (Little to no rainfall)

Day 3

Mara River Crossing Focus (Core Experience)

Mara River Crossing Focus (Core Experience)

Spend the full day in Northern Serengeti near the Mara River.

This is the primary objective of this tour: tracking herds and ethical positioning for river crossing and river bank action.

This day provides you with an in-depth experience of the wildebeest migration spectacle. You'll get the chance to see wildebeest navigating through steep river banks, go against strong river currents, navigate their way (or try to) away from Africa's deadliest Nile Crocodile's jaws, and after managing to go through all these hurdles, somehow also try to escape the land predators waiting on the other side of the river in ambush.

Overnight at Baobab Mara Luxury Camp, positioned to give you front-row access to the spectacle.

Day 4

Central Serengeti Dynamics

Central Serengeti Dynamics

Move to Central Serengeti for a chance to view a higher predator density along with resident, returning & weary wildebeest herds.

This is where the migration connects. Some herds passing through, others lingering, and predators taking advantage of the chaos.

High-Density Wildlife Finale | Ngorongoro Crater

Exit Serengeti National Park and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a chance to view a dense wildlife population in a contained, self-sustaining ecosystem. This includes resident wildebeest that have never stepped outside this special ecosystem.

We hope that, by now, you'll have a unique & complete understanding of animal dynamics and movements across the savannah.
