Nairobi/Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up from the airport early in the morning and begin your scenic drive to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. This iconic destination remains one of the few places in Africa where wildlife still roams freely in large numbers across vast, untouched savannahs, offering an authentic safari experience. As the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is world-famous for the Great Migration, when thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move across the plains in search of fresh grazing, closely followed by predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.

Upon arrival, you will check in at your camp or lodge in time for lunch and a short rest. Later in the afternoon, you will head out for your first exciting game drive across the open plains, where you may encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and big cats in their natural habitat. The golden afternoon light provides perfect conditions for photography and wildlife viewing.

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch, allowing you to explore the reserve from morning until evening without interruption. The park is famous for its impressive black-maned lions and rich concentration of wildlife spread across vast open plains. It is also one of the few safari destinations where visitors may be lucky enough to spot the Big Five within a single morning drive, depending on animal movement and conditions.

Cheetahs are commonly seen here and are known for their relaxed behavior around safari vehicles. In some cases, they may rest in the shade beneath cars or even climb onto them to gain a better vantage point while scanning the plains for prey.

Your final day in the Masai Mara begins with a relaxed breakfast at Mara Intrepids Camp, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness along the Talek River. Depending on your schedule, you may enjoy an early morning game drive, offering one last opportunity to witness the Mara’s incredible wildlife in action as predators and grazers start their day across the golden plains.

After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for brunch and some time to relax, enjoy the facilities, or simply take in the beautiful riverfront views. This is a perfect moment to reflect on your safari experience and the unforgettable sightings you have had over the past days, from the Big Five to the endless herds across the savannah.

Later, you will check out and begin your transfer back to Nairobi, with a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley. Arrival in the afternoon marks the end of your luxury safari experience in the Masai Mara.
