Day 1

After breakfast, you will depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, driving through the rural Maasai countryside. Upon arrival in Tarangire, you will begin a game drive.

Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. The Tarangire River attracts a wide variety of wildlife, making it one of the best places to observe animal activity, especially during the dry season. Expect to see giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and possibly predators such as lions or leopards. Birdlife is also abundant, adding to the park’s diversity.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park, which gives you more time to explore the landscape. In the afternoon, continue game driving across riverine areas and open plains before exiting the park. Later, transfer to your lodge in Karatu for your overnight stay, where the peaceful environment and natural surroundings provide a relaxing end to your first safari day.

Day 2

After having breakfast, you will depart Karatu and journey toward Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive climbs into the highlands, offering scenic views over the crater before descending into the vast Serengeti plains. Along the way, enjoy wildlife sightings as the terrain transitions from lush vegetation to open savannah. You will eat a picnic lunch en route to maximize exploration time.

Upon entering the Serengeti, begin a game drive through the central region, known for its high density of resident wildlife. Large herds of wildebeests and zebras are commonly seen, along with predators such as lions, cheetahs, and occasionally leopards.

The landscape is characterized by endless plains and rocky kopjes, ideal for wildlife viewing. Continue exploring into the late afternoon before heading to camp, where the sounds of the wild create an authentic safari atmosphere.

Day 3

Enjoy a breakfast prepared by your private chef. You will spend the full day exploring Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich regions. Early morning game drives offer excellent chances to spot predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. The area is also home to large herds of grazers, including wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, creating dynamic interactions across the plains.

Throughout the day, you will explore different habitats, from open grasslands to kopjes and river valleys, each supporting unique wildlife. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the bush, allowing you to remain immersed in the safari experience.

The afternoon continues with more game viewing, maximizing opportunities to witness natural behavior and possibly hunting scenes. As the sun sets, return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Serengeti wilderness.

Day 4

Enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti until 10:00 a.m., then drive back to your camp for brunch.

After brunch, you will help the camping staff load the vehicle and begin your game drive en route toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Wildlife sightings continue along the way as you gradually leave the open plains behind. The drive ascends into the cooler highlands, changing the scenery and offering impressive views. Upon arrival at the crater rim, panoramic views will provide a glimpse of the vast caldera below.

You will spend the night at a public campsite for one night, preparing yourself for a big day at the Ngorongoro Crater the following day.

After a very early breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater and descend for a half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site hosts a remarkable concentration of wildlife, offering one of the best opportunities to see the Big Five within a short time.

Expect to encounter elephants, buffaloes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, and hippos, along with diverse birdlife around the crater lakes. With some luck, the endangered black rhino may also be spotted within this protected environment. The crater floor features a variety of habitats, including swamps and acacia forests, supporting a wide range of species.

After the game drive, ascend back to camp for a quick brunch, then reload the vehicle and begin your return journey to Arusha, marking the end of your safari with lasting memories of Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes.
